An improved surgeon's chair is disclosed providing adjustable bodily support to a seated surgeon to prevent inadvertent fatigue, and a design enabling access to the chair without compromising the sterility of the surrounding operating area. The chair includes a frame assembly that supports both a seat assembly and a dual pivoting support having a plurality of body pads. A lifting mechanism attached to the seat assembly allows the seat assembly to be positioned at the desired vertical height. A knee rest assembly connected to the frame assembly provides support to the knees and shins of the surgeon. The dual pivoting support includes upper and lower sections that are independently rotatable and which rotate around respective laterally spaced vertical axes. The lower rotational section allows the body pads to be selectively positioned according to the girth and comfort of the surgeon. A releasable locking device on the upper rotational section is provided to allow selective positioning of the upper rotational section according to the comfort of the surgeon and to maintain operating area sterility when the surgeon approaches and leaves the chair.

A healthy chair comprises an inclined seat plate, a plurality of feet, and a frontal torso positioning device. The seat plate has a front side and a rear side that is higher than the front side. The frontal torso positioning device is fastened to the seat plate at the rear side thereof and extends forward and upward. Support bars for resting the feet of a user are positioned near the feet of the chair below the rear side of the seat plate. Thereby an upright sitting position is automatically assumed by the user, with the upper body and the thighs enclosing an angle of more than 90 degrees, resulting in a better sitting position, straightening of the spine and better health.

An intimacy chair assembly and method to assist a human couple to engage in sexual intercourse with reduced effect of gravity or the reduced expenditure of substantial energy including a pair of facing seats for the couple, the assembly being capable of reciprocating movement of at least one seat selectively continually toward and away from the other seat in a substantially longitudinal direction and of selectively continually pivoting said one seat about an upright axis.

A chair (10) to promulgate kinesthetic therapy including a seat frame (50), a chest rest frame (100), an arm rest frame (250) and a base (20). Therapeutic furniture for disabled persons adapted to support man and woman partners engaged in intercourse has longitudinally moveable man's seat facing adjustable-position female seat. Male partner is supported by seat with his back in a substantially upright position to relieve stresses on lumbar vertebrae, pelvis and legs. Longitudinal movement of the man's seat is effected by hand operation of a joy stick in mechanical communication with the seat, or, according to a modification of the invention, by actuation of an electric motor in electrical communication with the man's seat. Woman's seat and back are independently adjustable.
