A marking and measuring tool has a set of channels in which a bar may be slid. The channels extend from a flat side face adapted to be placed flush against a side of a work piece with one side of each channel extending towards a common line located in the plane of the side face.
An adjustable gauge having special attention to measuring the dimensions of a fillet weld. The gauge includes a first plate that is rectangular in shape and terminates in an edge which transverses one corner, and a second plate that is circular in shape. The front face of the first plate has a recess therein sized to accommodate the second plate, wherein the plates are rotatably mounted about an axis of rotation and juxtaposed to one another. The gauge also indicates a linear member slidably mounted along the same axis of rotation as the first and second plates upon the second plate. The linear member is extendible in relation to the second plate so as to measure the dimension of the weld.
A handheld layout and marking tool including a rule-like member and a sliding handgrip for sliding to a user desire position. The sliding handgrip preferably includes an integrally formed braking device rendering a one hand operable combined sliding handgrip and braking device. A handheld layout and marking tool having a headpiece and a detachable rule-like member for insertion into the headpiece lengthwise to interchangeably form either a framing square or a T-square.
A Framing Speedsquare Attachment is disclosed. Also disclosed is an attachment that includes a segment for slidingly attaching a conventional Speedsquare thereto. The attachment further includes a telescoping extension having a measuring scale on its top surface. Interconnecting the first segment to the telescoping portion is a U-shaped segment that is configured to permit a conventional saw blade to pass through without cutting the attachment. The attachment may also include an anti-jam mechanism to prevent a stop member from pinching a board to be cut. As designed, the attachment provides the user with the ability to make repetitive cuts without the need to use an additional measuring tape nor needing to make cut demarcations on the board to be cut.
A unitary guide tool that provides a guide for measuring and marking a work piece when moved along an edge thereof, the guide tool being in the form of a generally rectangular offset or stepped bar of material having a thicker section forming a stepped side for engaging the edge of a work piece in a first disposition and engaging a measuring tape dispensing housing in another disposition, the block being slidable along an edge of the work piece and having a longer dimension extending generally perpendicular thereto.
An adjustable position tool guide is disclosed for performing operations with tools on a work piece at an accurate distance and orientation with respect to edges or other features of the work piece in a highly convenient manner. The tool guide includes a base for positioning on the work piece. The base has a base edge for aligning in a substantially parallel orientation to a longitudinal axis of the work piece, and a work edge oriented perpendicular to the base edge for being oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the work piece when the base edge is aligned parallel with the longitudinal axis. The guide also includes a tape measure mounting assembly mounted on the base for mounting a tape measure on the base. The tape measure mounting assembly is slidably moveable on the base along a line oriented substantially parallel to the base edge of the base.
