A shotshell cartridge adapter is disclosed that enables safe firing of subcaliber rim-fire shot cartridges in conventional shotguns. In the preferred embodiment, the invention comprises an outer hull shaped like a standard shotgun shell; an adapter tube fixed within the hull; and a cylindrical firing pin mechanism removably housed within the lower end of the tube. This firing pin mechanism has a recessed piston-shaped firing pin with a chisel-pointed protrusion that strikes a shot cartridge loaded in the adapter.
A shotgun adapter is provided for firing a shotgun cartridge having a shotgun bore which is larger than the cartridge. The adapter is a generally hollow tubular member having a cylindrical outer wall and an inner wall concentric with the outer wall, with the inner wall and outer wall being uniquely tapered to specified degrees designed to improve the shooting accuracy when skeet shooting with different gauge cartridges.

An improved cartridge loader for releasable securement of cartridges to be simultaneously loaded into the cylinder of a revolver. A pintle rotates between a cartridge engaging position and a cartridge releasing position and is held in positive engagement with the loader body by the action of a spring-loaded pin assembly along a pin-engaging surface. The pin-engaging surface may be formed in the pintle and the pin assembly is substantially located within the loader body.
A plug assembly for inserting in a breech of a breech-loaded firearm to convert the breech-loaded firearm to a muzzle-loaded firearm is provided. The plug body is slidable in the breech and includes first and second ends. The plug body defines a powder chamber adjacent the first end, an ignition counterbore in firing communication with the powder chamber, and an access counterbore adjacent the second end of the plug. The plug body includes a mechanical interlocking device in the access counterbore to facilitate removal of the plug body from the breech of the breech-loaded firearm.
An adapter device for a breech-loading firearm employs a cartridge carrier which holds a cartridge by its rim. The cartridge carrier holds the cartridge such that its rear face contacts a forward face of the cartridge carrier. The adapter device further comprises an adapter barrel, sized to be received within the barrel of the firearm (primary barrel), and spacer rings for supporting the adapter barrel within the primary barrel. The adapter barrel has an adapter breech for abutting a forward end of the cartridge carrier so that the cartridge extends into the adapter barrel.
