Abstract
A game piece formed of a strip of sheet material folded into a packet containing a plurality of overlaying panels. First and second panels of equal dimensions are connected along a common end edge by a perforated line. The second and third panels are separated by a fold line. Two perforated lines are formed on opposite sides of the fold line. Additional perforated lines are formed along the longitudinal edges of the first, second and third panels, as well as the outer end edge of the first panel. The third panel is folded over the second panel and the first panel is folded over the third panel after adhesive has been applied to the peripheral edges adjacent the longitudinal perforations and end perforations on the first panel to secure the first, second and third panels together into a closed form. Tearing of the overlaying perforations enables the first, second and third panels, each of which bears advertising or promotional indicia to be completely separated from each other for individual use.

4832341 - High security instant lottery using bar codes - Owned by UPC Games, Inc. (Chicago, IL)

An improved instant lottery game is provided in which lottery numbers are represented on the respective lottery tickets in their corresponding UPC bar code form. A master program provides a list of randomly generated lottery numbers from which a list of winning numbers is randomly selected. The list of lottery numbers is divided into separate batches which are used by dispensing units to sequentially and instantaneously print out, on proper external stimulation, the random lottery numbers in their UPC bar code form on lottery labels at the site of the game. The lottery labels are adapted to be firmly postioned onto a designatd space on pre-printed lottery ticket blanks, in order to constitute valid tickets. When a ticket is presented for appraisal at the reader end, a conventional bar code scanner transposes the bar code on the ticket to the corresponding lottery number, which is then automatically compared to the list of winning numbers to determine if it represents a winner and external indication of the winning or losing status of the presented lottery ticket is given. The improved system provides a flexible instant lottery which is easy to operate and provides reasonable control over game parameters like the odds of winning while maintaining a high level of security.

5125689 - Package for promotional or other articles such as lottery tickets - Owned by Dittler Brothers, Incorporated (Atlanta, GA)

Packages for sets of promotional or other articles (such as lottery tickets or coupons) which conceal information included on the articles, and methods of forming the packages, are disclosed. Embodiments of the package include even (or odd) numbers of integrated panels of equal size, pairs of which panels are separated by fold lines. A four-panel package may be folded along the first and third fold lines so that the inner face of each panel contacts the inner face of an adjacent panel. The package then may be folded along the second fold line so that the exposed outer faces of the remotest panels contact, thereby forming a package having the length and width of a single panel. Sets of tickets or articles equal to the number of panels (or multiples thereof) may then be formed simultaneously by creating areas in the folded package completely defined by lines of weakness. To separate the tickets from the remainder of the package and reveal the concealed information, the customer merely tears, or "punches out," the tickets along the lines of weakness.
