Abstract
A collapsible container comprises side panels which are interconnected at their side edges by end panels. The side and end panels form a container space which can be positioned on top of a pallet. A bottom length flap extends from a lower edge of each side panel. One of the length flaps is intended to be secured to the top surface of a pallet. The other length flap is flanked by bottom width flaps which are each connected to a lower edge of one of the end panels. Each panel and flap is interconnected along a score line. Each end panel has a central vertical score line between score lines connecting the end panel to the adjacent side panels which extends from its upper edge down through a connected bottom width flap so as to divide each width flap into halves. One half of each width flap also includes a diagonal score line which extends from the adjacent side panel down to meet with the central score line dividing the width panel in half. The side and end panels are advantageously made of triple-wall corrugated fibreboard while the bottom flaps are made of single-wall corrugated fibreboard.

4949898 - Palletized container - Owned by Packaging Corporation of America (Evanston, IL)

A palletized container is provided having a collapsible receptacle section supported and subtended by a pallet section. The receptacle section includes a plurality of foldably interconnected outer wall panels which, when in a set up mode, extend upright from the upper surface of the pallet section. When in a collapsed mode, the outer wall panels are disposed in stacked relation and overlie the pallet section upper surface. A selected first pair of outer wall panels is provided with each selected panel having a pair of complemental panel segments which are foldably interconnected. When the receptacle section is in the setup mode, each pair of complemental panel segments are disposed in coplanar relation and the selected first pair of outer wall panels are disposed in opposed upright relation. When the receptacle section is in a collapsed mode, the outer wall panels are disposed in stacked relation and overlie the pallet section upper surface.

4969559 - Palletized container - Owned by Packaging Corporation of America (Evanston, IL)

A palletized container is provided which includes a collapsible receptacle section supported and subtended by the upper surface of a pallet section. The receptacle section is adjustable relative to the pallet section between set up and collapsed modes. The receptacle section includes pairs of foldably interconnected outet wall panels. When the receptacle section is in a set up mode, the pairs of wall panels assume upright opposed relation. Each panel of a first pair of wall panels includes a pair of foldably connected panel segments which are adapted to assume a planar relation when the receptacle section is in the set up mode. When the receptacle section is in a collapsed mode, the panel segments of each panel of the first pair assume a folded face-to-face relation and are sandwiched between a second pair of outer wall panels whereby both pairs of outer wall panels overlie the pallet section upper surface. Each panel of the second pair has a flap connected by a foldline to the bottom edge thereof. One of the flaps is affixed to the pallet section upper surface. The edge of each flap opposite the foldline interfit with one another and restrain lateral relative movement therebetween, thereby maintaining the receptacle section in the set up mode.

5474230 - Folding box - Owned by Hitachi Kasei Shoji Co., Ltd. (Tokyo,JP) Yotukura; Masakatu (Yokohama,JP)

A folding box includes a pair of opposed first side walls each foldable along a vertical direction, a pair of opposed second side walls, and a pair of bottom plates. Each bottom plates includes a central trapezoidal portion and a pair of triangular portions hingedly connected respectively to opposite sides of the trapezoidal portion. With this construction, the box made, for example, of a corrugated board can be folded into a compact size, so that the area of the folded box is small.

5845842 - Polymodal collapsible packaging container - Owned by Security Packaging, Inc. (Flint, MI)

The invention concerns a re-usable packaging container comprising an open-face tray member, a collapsible sleeve dimensioned when collapsed to fit within the tray member and further is deployable from a collapsed sleeve to an open form, and hinge guide means having first and second hinges connecting the tray member and sleeve. The packaging container permits the sleeve in collapsed form to be deployed and lifted guidably out of the tray member and opened on a hinge-controlled path to a deployment position match-fitted upright in supported relation from within the tray member and further permitting the deployed sleeve to be returned on the hinge-controlled path and caused to be collapsed within the open tray. The invention also concerns a packaging container tray blank having a tray bottom panel formed as a hinge guide intended for assembly of the blank with an attachable sleeve fitted to be stored in the tray in collapsed form or in opened and deployed form from within the tray.

5183200 - Folder type paper box

A box container having a bottom plate on which a rift is formed through one pair of opposite angles and a fold is running through each center of the other pair of opposite angles and having side plates each of which is connected in one piece to the periphery of said bottom plate, wherein the box container is pressed to be flat so as not to be bulky in transportation and storage and, in the case of assembling this box container, the bottom plate is unfolded to be flat along the folds which were provided on the bottom plate of said box container and, further, the whole of the bottom plate is fixed by sticking a quadrangular back plate thereto.
