A swinging device for controlling opening and closing of a shut-off valve or the like includes an oscillating crank which is pivoted with its one end to a nut reciprocating on a spindle driven by an electromotor via a gear transmission. The oscillating crank swings between two end positions and is provided with an elongated slot in which a prolongation of a coupling member projects in shiftable but non-rotational manner. In both end positions of the crank which correspond to the respective opening position and closing position of the shut-off valve, a maximum torque is exerted on the switch shaft because the distance of the point of articulation of the crank to the nut from the rotational axis of the switch shaft is at a maximum.
A two-position motorized servo actuator with automatic motor shut off at either position. The user remotely energized the motor with a two-position switch and the motor drives in rotation a floating lead screw journalled for both rotational and axial movement. A follower traverses the lead screw during rotation; and, a lever means moved by the follower is operative to perform a desired function, such as for example, open and close a valve. Upon the follower contacting a travel limit stop, the motor continues rotation of the lead screw which moves axially by threaded advancement in the follower, and the axial movement of lead screw is operative to toggle a switch and reverse the polarity of the power to the motor. If the motor is remotely energized, for reverse rotation by user movement of the two-position switch to its opposite position, the servo will operate to drive the follower to an opposite limit position.
In apparatus for controlling a rapid feed speed of a movable body, for example a table of a machine tool, by using a ball screw, there are provided a converting device for converting the rotation of the ball screw into a force for reciprocating the table, a position detector which judges whether a nut of the ball screw is at an end of the movement of the nut or at a central portion of the movement for issuing a detection signal and a speed reducing device which reduces the number of revolutions of the ball screw when the detection signal is issued.
A car mark emblem display and storage device for protruding the car mark emblem from the car engine hood to a display position or storing and concealing the car mark emblem in the car engine hood to prevent the car mark emblem from being stolen. The display and storage device includes a motor, a guide screw unit actuated by the motor for raising or lowering the car mark emblem, a seat vertically slidable along the guide screw unit for supporting the mark emblem, a limit control unit for controlling the upper and lower limit of the movement of the mark emblem and the action of the motor, a top cover unit also actuated by the motor for adjustably covering or uncovering a passage for the car mark emblem, and a body frame for retaining most of the above-mentioned components.
A headrest assembly for vehicle seats includes a first stationary link and a second link connected to the first link and side walls of a bracket for padded member. A rod is rotatably connected to the first link and received in slots on the bracket. When a motor mounted on the bracket is actuated, a screw member engaged with a nut member which is fixed on the rod causes the bracket to be swiveled.
A valve apparatus used in heating and cooling systems in which a valve housing, a valve element, a drive mechanism, and a torque limiting mechanism operate to open and close the valve element between different ports to allow fluid flow through the flow passage within the valve. A torque limiting mechanism comprising a spring limits the amount of torque required by the motor by using energy stored in the spring to assist in maintaining the valve element in a closed position, or to maintain the valve element in an intermediate position for the regulation of flow through the valve flow passage in both mixing and diverting applications. The valve mechanism includes a motor driven mechanism with a de-energizing circuit to stop the rotation of the motor upon the motor driven mechanism applying a predetermined amount of compression to the spring. The compressed spring exerting a substantially equal force to the valve element for closing the different ports.
