Abstract
A sealer for inflated balloons, consisting of a casing having a vertical transverse channel open at its upper end. A toothed wheel is mounted on one side of the channel and a resilient strip on the other side. The strip has an operative portion extending in the channel in curved abutting relation to the wheel. The latter and the strip cooperatively define a V-shape notch. Pressure adhesive tape extends from a spool around the toothed wheel. A cutting member is pivoted below the wheel and the strip. Pressing a balloon neck downwardly actuates the wheel and causes the leading portion of the tape to be peeled back from the strip and adhere to the incoming portion of the tape, thus surrounding the neck of the balloon.

5600934 - Device for applying a closing strip - Owned by Business to Business Innovations B.V. (Al Rotterdam,NL)

A device for applying a closing strip, which device comprises for this purpose a box-like housing profiled with a channel (6). The housing herein comprises a first storage space for adhesive tape, first through-feed means for feeding a strip of adhesive tape from said space to the channel, and a rotor with fins for guiding the adhesive tape into the channel with the sticking side facing outward. The housing further comprises a second storage space for tape-like material, second through-feed means for feeding a strip of tape-like material from the second drum-shaped space to the channel. Means are present in the channel for forming a closing strip tape from the supplied strip of adhesive tape and the tape-like material, in addition to cutting means for severing the closing strip. The second drum-shaped space is partially enclosed by removably embodied closing means (35).

4912913 - Bag sealing machine - Owned by Bemis Company, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN)

This invention is directed to a novel bag sealing machine. More particularly, this invention is directed to a novel machine which can be used for sealing and securing bags which are loaded and held in boxes. The bags in the boxes are loaded from the top with a designated product before the opening at the top of the bag is sealed by the machine. A bag sealing apparatus comprising: (a) conveyor means for conveying through the apparatus a loaded bag which has an opening at the top of the bag; (b) upwardly bag wall forcing means for forcing the open end of the bag upwardly into gripping means, said gripping means drawing the gripped portion of the bag together to accumulate the gripped portion of the bag into a neck-like portion; (c) bag side support means located downstream from the upwardly bag wall forcing means for supporting the side of the bag and drawing it in a downstream direction along the conveyor means; (d) neck accepting and accumulating means located downstream from the upwardly bag wall forcing means for accepting and accumulating the neck of the bag as formed by the gripping means upstream; and, (e) means for applying a fastening means about the circumference of the accumulated neck of the bag after it has been accepted by the neck accepting and accumulating means.

6263649 - Leaf gathering and compressing machine and method

The leaf gathering and compressing machine has an main frame supported on wheels and adapted to be attached to the drawbar of a tractor. A subframe is pivotally attached to the main frame. A leaf pickup assembly is mounted on the front of the subframe. A leaf feeder assembly with a plurality of augers journaled on the subframe receives leaves from the leaf pickup assembly and conveys the leaves to the rear. A compression auger in an auger housing, mounted on the subframe, receives leaves from the feeder assembly, compresses the leaves and conveys the leaves to the rear. The auger housing has a minimum diameter that is at least two inches larger than the compression auger diameter in a generally vertical transverse plane. A holding container mounted on the main frame communicates with a compression auger discharge.

6898925 - Wet leaf gathering and compressing machine - Owned by Smith; Earl R. (Wiedman, MI)

The wet leaf gathering and compressing machine includes a main frame supported by wheels and adapted to be moved along a path parallel to a leaf windrow. A leaf gathering and compressing frame is pivotally attached to the main frame. A leaf gathering assembly, a leaf elevator and a leaf compressor are attached to the leaf gathering and compressing frame. The leaf compressor includes a pair of cantilevered parallel driven augers. Leaves are deposited on top of a forward portion of the parallel driven augers. the rear portion of the driven augers cooperate with a compression housing to compress leaves and force the compressed leaves into the lower portion of a leaf storage bin.
