A puppy toy or comforter comprising two generally rectangular hollow bodies of fabric of similar dimensions which are filled with padding material and which are joined together in overlying relationship along three outer edges. The conjoined bodies define a cavity into which may be inserted an article, such as a clock or ticking watch, or bottle filled with warm water, for pacifying or comforting a puppy. In a modification, the bodies are each provided with releasable fastening means at one end to facilitate removal of the padding material for cleaning.
An apparatus for opening and closing the cover for a keyboard of a musical instrument including a rack and pinion mechanism to provide smooth sliding of the cover member. A rack and a pinion guide groove are integrally formed on each side of the musical instrument. A rotatable shaft includes at each end a pinion which engages with the rack. The pinion members are slidingly engaged on the shaft so that the guide members at each end of the shaft may be easily inserted into the guide grooves provided on the sides of the mechanism.
A container for enclosing particulate matter for use as an animal toy constructed or sewn fabric being provided with hook and loop sealing wherein an extension of the container body forms a protection for the Velcro sealer before the hook and loop forms the seal, thereby protecting the Velcro from the particulate contents of the toy. The contents of the toy preferably comprise catnip. The toy can take any shape and/or color combination, such as that of fruit, a vegetable or an animal, preferably a rodent.
A toy for an animal, the toy having a first flexible sheet having a first outer periphery; a second flexible sheet having a second outer periphery; and connectors for joining at least three portions of the first and second sheets, the portions being located adjacent to the first outer periphery of the first sheet and the second outer periphery of the second sheet, the connectors forming openings between each of the portions, and the connectors forming a cavity between the first flexible sheet and the second flexible sheet, the cavity being formed within the portions joined to one another, and the openings having a given length defined by the size of each of the connectors and the total number of the connectors; wherein the openings are sized to permit passage of a favorite object therethrough.
A pet bed comprises a pair of semi-circular cushions connected along their circumferential perimeters to a circular cushion having substantially the same radius as the semi-circular cushions. The opposed diametral edges of the semi-circular cushions are unattached leaving a trough between them. A pocket is formed between the adjacent surfaces of the semi-circular and circular cushions whereby a pet may crawl into the pocket for resting and sleeping or may lie in the trough surrounded on two sides by the diametral edges of the semi-circular cushions.
An animal soothing system including an animal bedding structure having a pocket formed therein, and a soothing device for generating soothing rhythmic vibrations disposed in the pocket of the bedding structure to communicate the soothing vibrations to animals lying on the bedding structure is provided. In one embodiment the bedding structure is a mattress or pad, and the soothing device is a battery powered heartbeat simulator with a pressure sensitiye switch to activate the simulator when an animal lies upon the bedding and deactivate the simulator when the animal rises from the bedding.
