Bales emanating from the discharge end of a baler are received on an accumulating trailer provided with a weighing scale that, in combination with an electrical system, automatically determines the weight of certain of the successively issuing bales and conveniently displays such weight to the operator in the cab of the towing vehicle so that the operator can monitor the quality and condition of bales prepared by the machine on an ongoing, non-stop basis. An onboard computer preferably forming a part of the electronic system controls the process and assures its accuracy, while also providing information such as the average weight of bales weighed since last resetting the system.
A weighing device for weighing bails of hay, straw and withering plants produced by a bailer having a pressing and transporting passage has a loading slide, a unit for connecting the loading slide with a bailer so that the loading slide is turnable in a parallelogram-like manner, a unit for fixing bails in a weighing position on the loading slide, a signal producing unit providing a command for determination and registration of a weight of the bail, a controlling and computing device arranged for receiving the command, a measuring value unit for measuring the weight of bails and connected with the controlling and computing device, and an indicating unit connected to the controlling and computing device for indicating the measured weight.
The invention relates to an apparatus for measurement of the weight force of a bale of crop material after it is formed in a baler. The formed bale is movable in the baler by a conveying device and a weight force measurement device is provided for measuring a measurement parameter which is influenced by the weight force of the formed bale. The measurement device is set up so as to measure the weight force of the bale when the latter is resting on the conveying apparatus.
An agricultural baler including a compression chamber housing, a support axle, springs provided at both sides of the compression chamber housing for supporting the housing on the support axle with a possibility of vertical displacement relative to the support axle, and sensors for determining a distance between the compression chamber housing and the support axle and for generating signals representing in response to sensing the distance a measure of a bale weight.
Bales are produced by a baler having a pressing passage of predetermined cross section and from which emerges a succession of the bales that travel rearward from the press passage over an output guide and fall off a rear edge of the guide from the baler. The density of these bales is determined by weighing each of the bales in the guide and producing a weight output corresponding to a weight of the bale in the guide and measuring the length of each of the bales in the guide and producing a length output corresponding to a length of the bale in the guide. Then the volume of each of the bales is calculated by multiplying the respective bale length output by an area equal to the cross section of the passage and each calculated volume is divided by the respective weight output to derive the density of the respective bale.
The bulk volume of large numbers of loose, separated, multiply bent, irregularly shaped scrap sheet metal is temporarily reduced, for transportation and storage of the metal for recycling purposes, by compressing the metal into temporary, compacted wafers formed of successively compacted layers. The apparatus includes a load chamber which is axially aligned with a compression chamber and a reciprocating ram which passes through the chambers towards an anvil plate which closes the discharge end of the compression chamber. A pre-determined quantity of loose pieces is placed within the load chamber. The reciprocating ram compresses the pieces of that batch into a thin layer. Successive batches are compressed into overlapping layers which are temporarily bound together, face-to-face, to form a unitary wafer, by temporarily bending and intertwining the peripheral edges of the layers. The layers are subsequently separated for recycling by depositing into a melt furnace.
