The invention relates to a device for holding two ropes or corresponding elongated bodies together in a fixed relation to each other at a right angle or parallel to each other. The device is characterized in that it comprises two essentially identical halves (2, 11), each being provided with a recess (3, 12) into which the rope fits, and that these halves may be pressed together and be locked by means of snap locks (5, 6, 13 14) when pressed together, the axial or turning movement of the ropes in relation to each other being prevented by the force of friction, and according to a preferred embodiment, by pegs (4, 17) on the bottom of the recesses, and the separation of the ropes being prevented by the snap locks, and, according to a modification of the preferred embodiment, by a screw which extends through each of the halves of the device and thereinbetween through each of the ropes.
A joiner capable of joining two terminal strip segments together in a consistent manner which permits the joiner to be automatically detected against a background of a continuous strip of terminals by a terminal insertion machine has two identical, hermaphroditic joiner halves. Each joiner half has an optically detectable solid body, means for engaging a terminal strip segment, and means for securely grasping another joiner half. Two terminal strip segments can be joined with the joiner by engaging an end of a first terminal strip segment with a means for engaging a terminal strip segment on a first joiner half, while engaging an end of a second terminal strip segment with a means for engaging a terminal strip segment on a second joiner half. A joint is formed between the first and second terminal strip segments by securely grasping the first and second joiner halves together.
A connecting device for securing a down pipe to a wall comprises a first part fixable to the surface and a second part attachable to the first part and forming an at least partial enclosure for the pipe, the attachment of the second part to the first part being selectively adjustable, whereby spacing of the pipe from the wall is adjustable. Co-operative formations prevent slidable movement of the second part relative to the first part, in a given direction along the longitudinal axis of the pipe, but permit slidable movement of the second part relative to the first part in an opposite direction, along the longitudinal axis of the pipe, once the second part has been slidably attached to the first part.
A clamping joint and a method for producing such a joint for interconnection of a clamping lock with at least one wire, which is insertable therein, and which clamping lock after compression during plastic deformation in a clamping tool seizes and arrests the wire in the sleeve. A least one locking member is embedded in the wire and connected to the lock, under clamping of the wire against the clamping lock.
A cord fastener used for fastening end portions of a cord is composed of two identical fastener members coupled together via an interlocking engagement between a locking portion and a resilient leg. The fastener members each include a cord-receiving portion for receiving the end portions of the cord, pointed teeth projecting from the cord-receiving portion to bite the material of the cord and a support wall disposed on at least one side of the cord-receiving portion at a position such that the support wall of each fastener member makes no interference with the support wall on the opposite fastener member when the two fastener members are assembled together. The cord fastener is manufactured less costly because the two identical fastener members can be molded on a single set of mold assembly.
A fastener comprising first and second separable members, for engaging an elongate element. Each member includes first and second complementary shaped partial-cylindrical portions formed on a facing side thereof. The first and second partial-cylindrical portions of the first member have outside dimensions that are complementarily dimensioned with respect to the inside dimensions of the first and second partial-cylindrical portions of the second member, so that the first and second partial-cylindrical portions of the first member selectively engage and nest within the first and second partial-cylindrical portions of the second member when the facing side of the first and second members are positioned towards each other. The elongate element is engaged between the first and second members of the fastener by an engagement area formed when one of the first and second partial-cylindrical portions are nested.
