A material spreader carried by the operator in one hand and operated by the same hand for oscillatory movement includes a hollow hopper, a spring-like carrying and operating handle attached to the hopper wall, and a material distributor mounted on the hopper exterior wall to receive material inertially ejected from the hopper through a gated aperture.
An apparatus for simultaneously supplying at least two kinds of particles onto a given surface, includes a movable supply head having at least one partition member for partitioning the at least two kinds of particles and defining at least two supply ports in conjunction with the supply head; and a device for introducing the at least two kinds of particles into the supply head. A patterned shaped article is produced by a method using the apparatus. The method includes simultaneously supplying the two supply ports of the supply head, with the one partition member abutting on the given surface, thereby forming a pattern course on the given surface, and allowing the pattern course to set into an integral mass.

A twist apply granular spreader comprising a tapered hollow body having an open top end, a closed bottom end, and a wall surface integral with the top and bottom ends for containing and dispersing granular dispersal substances through a multiplicity of apertures in the wall surface. A handle extends from the top end of the spreader body for supporting the body from above during use. A cover lid having a lip rim is detachably coupled to the top end of the spreader body for retaining granular dispersal substances. A channel encompasses the exterior circumference of the top end of the body and accepts the lip rim of the cover lid thus securing the cover lid.
A Deicing Device is provided for placing ice melting material into a rain gutter. The device is mounted on a handle and permits the placement of ice melting material from ground level without the need for a ladder. The Deicing Device has a front side which is placed over the rain gutter and the edge of the roof. On the rear side the actuating mechanism is located on the front side with a valve assembly and a spout. A valve plate which slides in a valve guide release deicing material from the hopper through the spout. A rope actuates the movement of the slide plate against the force of a spring. A support member is affixed to the hopper. A spring member is forced downwardly which forces a drive member, which is attached to the slide plate, toward the front side releasing deicing material in the hopper.
A lid to dispense granular material. The lid includes a hole through which the granular material may flow and is closable by a combination seal and dispenser slidably mounted thereto. The dispenser has exit passages when extended located outwardly of the lid rim. A guide wall mounted to the lid main body extends into the seal and dispenser passage.
