The discharge device comprises a member having a plurality of liquid flow openings, an eductor tube, a liquid flow path from the eductor tube to the member with the plurality of liquid flow openings and a valve positioned in the liquid flow path. The valve is movable between a blocking position and a discharge position. The valve is operative in the blocking position to block the liquid flow path and is operative in the discharge position to unblock the liquid flow path. Further, a cap member having a discharge orifice which is larger than any of the plurality of openings is mounted over the member having the plurality of openings. The device produces a fine spray mist. However, the device can also be used to produce a foam by placing a screen over the orifice.
RELATED APPLICATIONS
The present application is a continuation-in-part of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 616,942, filed June 4, 1984, now U.S. Pat. No. 4,673,110.
The invention relates to an airless dispenser which is used to dispense low doses of liquid products. The inventive dispenser is characterised in that it consists of: a first part comprising a spray nozzle which is communicated with a network of channels on the wall of an inner truncated-cone-shaped bore, and a second part comprising a deformable container which equipped with a rigid flange for fixing the first part in the aforementioned bore. The outer periphery of the flange comprises an inclined surface which defines a vortex chamber, opposite the above-mentioned network of channels, and which, together with the wall of the first part, forms an internal peripheral outlet groove. The outlet groove is defined radially by a flexible lip forming an inlet valve which is supported by the first or second part.
A squeeze sprayer device is attached to a squeezable container of fluid. The device includes a capped cylinder containing an axially moveable discharge valve in the form of an air piston which unseats in response to air pressure to open the discharge upon squeezing the container for producing a fine mist spray as pressurized air admixes with the liquid at the discharge orifice. A one-way valve controlled air vent on the piston closes during the spray operation. Upon release of squeeze pressure, the piston returns, its one-way valve opens for venting, and the piston seal cuts off the spray.
A cap for a container may comprise a body, an outlet orifice for dispensing a product from a container, a lid configured to selectively cover at least a portion of the outlet orifice, a snap hinge coupling the lid to the body, and at least one shut-off flap. The at least one shut-off flap may selectively allow the product to be dispensed from the outlet orifice. The at least one shut-off flap and the body may be a single piece formed of a material substantially the same as a material forming the snap hinge.
A squeeze bottle atomizer comprised of a tube retainer having a product outlet port in a conical shaped central post through which fluid is expelled from within the container. A plurality of air inlet ports are located adjacent the central post and allow air to be forced and sucked out of the container when squeezed as well as return and be sucked into the interior of the container when the container is released. The orifice cup has an annular mixing or turbulence chamber wherein the air and the fluid from within the container are mixed before being expelled out of the orifice cup through a discharge orifice. The axis of the product outlet port is coincident with the axis of the discharge orifice. A dip tube depends from the tube retainer and defines a path for the fluid from the bottom of the container to the annular mixing chamber.

A foam dispenser utilizes a deformable reservoir, a foamable fluid and air or other gas; a discharge device and an arrangement for producing foam that includes a plurality of mesh screens. When the dispenser is operated, air from inside the dispenser is mixed with the fluid to produce foam. The dispenser employs a shaped and resilient deformable seal for use in quickly recharging the container with air used in the creation of foam. The dispenser also advantageously employs an integrally molded swirl manifold to create a foam of excellent quality and consistency.
