A device for use in oral and dental hygiene wherein an oral irrigator is provided for connection to a conventional syringe or the like for applying fluid under pressure to the irrigator. The irrigator has a downwardly tapered tip with one or more longitudinally formed channels fluidly connected to the fluid supply syringe, with the remaining circumference of the irrigator tip capable of holding away the gum tissue, whereby irrigating fluid under pressure is applied into the base of a periodontal pocket for cleansing purposes with the channels also providing an exit for the fluid and debris to prevent undue pressure build-up.
A device for use in removing food debris from between the teeth includes a rigid body having a fluid passage in it extending between a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, means for connecting the inlet to a source of fluid under pressure, a valve in the passage for controlling fluid flow through the passage, manual means for operating the valve, a rigid tube extending from the fluid outlet to a fluid exit orifice, and pressure relief means between that outlet and the exit orifice.
An apparatus for inspecting the appearance of a semiconductor device has an imaging device which forms an image of the outside of a semiconductor device. An image analyzer analyzes the image and determines whether the semiconductor device is good or bad. A semiconductor device to be inspected is removed from a first conveyor on the periphery of a turntable by a vacuum chuck which is mounted on the turntable, and the semiconductor device is transported to in front of the imaging device by a turntable. If the semiconductor device is determined to be good, the turntable transports the semiconductor device to a second conveyor on the periphery of the turntable, and the vacuum chuck deposits the semiconductor device on the second conveyor. If the semiconductor device is determined to be bad, the turntable transports the semiconductor device to a discard receiving mechanism on the periphery of the turntable, and the vacuum chuck deposits the semiconductor device on the discard receiving mechanism.
An improved hand-held syringe for convenient and safe self-use simultaneously scraping and irrigating periodontal pockets, featuring three elements: a rubber-like bulb-syringe to carry medicant; a cannula whose distal end comprises both an aperture for dispensing the medicant and an irregular surface for scraping plaque; and, a tubular coupler comprising a smooth end for adjustable tight-fit insertion into an aperture in the bulb-syringe, the other end a (female) luer-lock with mates with a (male) luer-lock on the proximal end of the cannula.
A self-contained hand-operated oral irrigation device for dispensing a pulsing stream of water or therapeutic fluid to the surfaces of the user's oral cavity. The irrigation device has the capability of lavaging at controlled values of pressure and volume of the dispensed fluid and withdrawing the fluid from user's oral cavity for convenient disposal. The irrigation device has a detachable section. Different types of discharge sections include a tooth brush, plaque removal brush and a gum stimulator having lavaging capabilities are provided.
The clean breath wand comprises an elongate hollow body having a distal end, a proximal end and a proximal handle portion, a coupling member for coupling the proximal end to a source of liquid, a head end fixed to the distal end of the hollow body, and the head end having an outer end face with at least one tongue scraping rib or blade thereon and at least one irrigating opening extending through the front end and opening onto the outer end face.
