Apparatus including an oral syringe for attachment to a shower head for cleaning the teeth and gums while showering. The oral syringe is connected to water flowing under pressure to the shower head through a unique valving assembly which diverts a manually adjustable portion of the water flowing to the shower head into a passageway lying at right angles to the direction of the flow of the water into the shower head. A manually adjustable valve stem including an O-ring valve is located in the passageway and controls the flow of water through an axial passageway in the valve stem. A flexible hose connected to the rear end of the valve stem conveys the water to the oral syringe. The valve stem also controls a diverter valve which can be adjusted to cut off the flow of water to the shower head in the event of low water line pressure to insure sufficient water pressure to the oral syringe for proper cleaning of the teeth and gums.
A shower head includes a main body, a locking member, a water inlet tube, a water outlet tube, a water outlet sleeve, and a retaining cap. Thus, the water outlet sleeve is freely rotatable relative to the main body to adjust the water outlet directions of the shower head so as to satisfy the user's practical requirements. In addition, the water outlet sleeve has an upper end formed with an annular flange rested on the first O-ring of the water outlet tube and a lower end having a resting edge rested on the second O-ring of the water outlet tube to reduce the friction during rotation of the water outlet sleeve, so that the water outlet sleeve is rotatable easily and smoothly.
An improved teeth cleaner, in which a squirt gun is designed the front end of a handle, and a bending nozzle designed on the foremost position of the squirt gun while its end is designed to be as a dentiform ring-shaped edge and a pipeline on which a gasket is available for connecting the T-shaped pipe; in addition, an internal pipe is designed in the interior of the handle, whose both ends are connected to the T-shaped pipe and a rotiform joint respectively of the both ends of the handle. Moreover, on the rotiform joint, a silica gel tube is connected to the switching connector of the water pipe, so as to form a simple teeth cleaner.
A valve for adjusting the flow of water through an oral irrigation device connected to a shower head is located on a handle connected to a water-dispensing syringe or pick. Rotation of the valve controls the amount and pressure of water dispensed through the syringe or pick in a direct stream from the shower head.
The apparatus of the present invention is especially effective in dislodging plaque from the teeth through the application of a mixture of a liquid oral antiseptic with water under pressure. In a preferred embodiment to be described, the apparatus is connected for use between the showerhead and the water supply to the head, with the amount of pressure controllable through the apparatus via a valve which serves to mix the antiseptic and water together. A second valve is employed as part of the applicator to dislodge the plaque and which operates to pulsate the admixture to the teeth under manual user control. In a second embodiment, the plaque dislodging apparatus is coupled within a bathroom vanity, or otherwise beneath a countertop, coupling the apparatus between the water supply source and the faucet or tap.
An oral irrigating liquid dispenser (20) is disclosed which operates from a liquid pressure source (22) to dispense two liquids (54, 72) from an orifice (26). A valve member (24) moves to different positions to couple the source respectively to a piston face (64A), a conduit (60) and an outlet port (71). Flow control valves (80, 89) are provided to control flow from the orifice. Since no electrical power is involved the dispenser may safely be used in the presence of liquids and electrical grounds.
