Polyureas are prepared from a system of (A) a polyisocyanate; and (B) a mixture of polyamines containing (i) from 60 to 25 percent by weight of the mixture of an aromatic polyamine; and (ii) from 40 to 75 percent by weight of the mixture of an aliphatic polyamine.
Crosslinkable gel compositions cure rapidly to provide gel compositions which possess superior combinations of chemical and physical properties and aging resistance. These compositions are particularly useful for environmentally protecting substrates, especially electrical conductors, connectors, and splices and for sealing around jacketed cables, for example where they enter splice cases.
Methods for securing wood members together are disclosed. The methods include the use of an adhesive that quickly cures without heating. Adhesives may be impingement sprayed or splattered onto a contact surface. The methods may be used to form high-strength bonds between wood and/or plastic members in short processing times.
A polyurethane-polymer composition suitable for preparing a lightweight tire support includes at least one isocyanate, at least one polyol, and at least one chain extender. A polyurethane-polymer composition can also include an additive such as a catalyst, a filler, a surfactant, a colorant, and a mold-release agent. A lightweight tire support can be prepared from a polyurethane-polymer composition by, for example, reaction injection molding. Such a tire support desirably has temperature stability and load-bearing capability.
