Abstract
A backhoe arrangement is disclosed wherein a single dipper arm is adapted for operably, removably engaging a mounting bracket of a tractor mounted, cantilevered type of skip-loader boom arm assembly. The tractor provides support for the cantilevered load by reason that the boom arms are pivoted from a rear end of the tractor while the attached single-arm backhoe is operably deployed to the front of the tractor. The described embodiment provides for significantly reduced weight and complexity, thereby enabling the tractor to be driven during excavating operations. The dipper arm may be swung to positions nearly at right angles to the direction of travel of the tractor.

4887939 - Extension arm assembly for a tractor loader - Owned by Westendorf Mfg. Co., Inc. (Onawa, IA)

An extension arm assembly for mounting on the forward ends of the boom arms of a tractor loader is described which enables the effective length of the boom arms to be extended thereby enabling the tractor loader to raise materials to a height greater than that otherwise possible. The extension arm assembly may be quickly and easily mounted on the forward ends of the boom arms without modification thereof.

4941786 - Excavator

An excavator has a frame attached to its rear side for mounting of an implement. The frame includes lateral limit vertical beams which are connected by upper and lower horizontal rails. The rails are separated vertically. A slide member has guide grooves which engage the top surface of the upper rail and bottom surface of the lower rail to slidably mount the slide member on the frame. A toothed rack is attached to the underside of the upper rail and is disposed behind the front surface of the rail. A drive motor attached to the slide has a pinion meshing with the toothed rack. Actuation of the motor causes the slide member to slide on the rails.

6119377 - Backhoe attachment for skid loaders

A backhoe attachment (10) includes a boom (12) adapted to be connected by a suitable mounting structure (15) to the loader manipulating arrangement (16) of a front-end or skid loader. A distal end of the boom (12) is adapted for receiving a backhoe bucket (14). When attached to the loader manipulating arrangement (16) the loader operator may use the loader's regular controls to pull the backhoe bucket (14) toward the loader and dig a trench with the attachment.

5171124 - Backhoe attachment for skid steer loader - Owned by Farmer's Factory Co. (Lee, IL)

A backhoe attachment for a skid steer loader includes a dipper stick formed by two separable boom components which reduce the cost of shipping the dipper stick, one of the boom components being constructed as a standard module and the other component being customized in accordance with the particular model of skid steer loader to which the backhoe is to be attached. The two boom components are inclined relative to one another at an obtuse included angle to enable the bucket of the attachment to dig in close proximity to the front of the loader. Detachable stabilizers extend downwardly, outwardly and forwardly from the loader and engage the ground during a digging operation in order to prevent tipping of the loader. Stops are carried by and located above the stabilizers and engage the loading arms of the loader in order to prevent damage to the stabilizers when the loading arms are swung downwardly in front of the vehicle.

5701693 - Berm clearing attachment for road clearing vehicles - Owned by Edge Development, Inc. (Mayport, PA)

A berm clearing attachment for removable securement to a road clearing vehicle, such as a bulldozer, road grader, hi-lift, dump truck, tractor, or skid-steer loader, for side or lateral dozing accumulated dirt and debris off of roads and road berms and away from guiderails by reciprocating laterally with respect to the longitudinal axis of the road clearing vehicle as the vehicle travels on the road and road berm. The berm clearing attachment includes a support framework removably securable to the front of the road clearing vehicle, and when used with the skid loader, the support framework would be removably securable to the front mounting plate of the loader. The berm clearing attachment includes an elongated cylinder housing mounted to the support framework transverse to the axis of travel of the loader along the road and road berm, an inner boom disposed within the cylinder housing and capable of selective, slidable, reciprocable extension and retraction within the cylinder housing in a direction lateral to the longitudinal axis of the loader, and a blade secured to the distal end of the inner boom. The berm clearing attachment also includes a pivoting cylinder secured to the support framework for selectively raising and lowering the cylinder housing with respect to the surface of the road so that the blade can be raised or lowered to facilitate side dozing of dirt and debris.
