A method and apparatus for displaying an image in each of plural display areas that are adjacently defined in a row direction on a display screen having a plurality of display rows, by defining boundary data for determining a boundary in a row direction between each adjacent display areas for each display row, and switching the image display between each adjacent display area for each display row based on the corresponding boundary data for each row, thereby enabling definition of the boundary freely and simply.
An image display apparatus, which is used to display a plurality of images on one display image by carrying out a filtering operation, comprises a memory unit, a filter unit, a write control unit, a delay unit, and a switching unit. The write control unit controls the writing of the display data at a region having a specific address length between adjacent display-regions, when storing the display data into the memory unit. The filter unit applies a filtering operation to the display data read out from the memory unit along the display scanning direction, and the delay unit gives a different delay value to the display data output from the filter unit. The switching unit switches the display data having a different delay value output from the delay unit at a boundary line of the adjacent display-regions. Therefore, the length between the adjacent display-regions can be shortened, and an image having a preferable length between the adjacent display-regions without an intervention can be displayed.
A document writing apparatus capable of editing a document while simultaneously displaying another document in the same frame of a display. A unit for determining the display method is provided which selects, when two documents are simultaneously displayed, bisected display areas on which the two documents are respectively displayed so that the lines of the two documents are displayed in a series relationship with each other if the sum of the numbers of characters constituting one lines of the two documents is smaller than the maximum of the number of characters which can be displayed on the display in the widthwise direction, or are displayed in parallel with each other if the sum of the numbers of characters exceeds the maximum number of characters. The display method determining unit selects the number of dots constituting each displayed character so that the number of display dots is maximized within the limit of the predetermined maximum number of display dots.
An image information display apparatus is provided, with a plurality of address producing portions which output active signals and address signals. When the active signals and address signals are output an effective address signal is selected in response to an address deciding portion from the plurality of address signals outputted by the address producing portion in accordance with a priority order signal and the active signal inputted from outside. Accordingly read the image information is sequentially read from the address in the memory to be expressed by the effective address signal for displaying the plurality of rectangular regions. As a result the image of image parameters to display the multiwindow are reduced so that the priority order of the overlapped rectangular regions, the display positions and so on may be easily changed.

A display device having display memory and a display unit including a display plane for displaying contents of the display memory includes a boundary co-ordinate setting unit for setting co-ordinate values on the display plane of boundaries demarcating various display sections which are made by dividing a display area of the display plane into a plurality of areas, a co-ordinate memory for storing the set boundary co-ordinate values, an input data memory for storing input data having co-ordinate values corresponding to the display area of the display plane, a display scale factor setting unit for setting display scale factors of the input data of each of the display sections and a scale factor memory for storing the set display scale factors. A unit is provided for reading the display scale factors corresponding to the co-ordinate values of the input data read out from the input data memory on the basis of contents of the co-ordinate memory and the scale factor memory, and an operating unit is provided for operating enlargement or reduction of the co-ordinate values of the read input data in accordance with the read display scale factor, converting the co-ordinate values into display data and for supplying the display data to the display memory. A plurality of areas having different display scale factors of the input data can be displayed at the display area of the display plane.
A method of displaying a stitching image particularly for a plating stitch. A screen of a display unit displays a stitch structure including a type of thread for each stitch of a knit fabric. The display area of each stitch is divided into a ground yarn display area and a plating yarn display area based on the type of stitch. The ground yarn is allocated to one of the divided areas while the plating yarn is allocated to the other of the divided areas.
