A frame includes four corner pieces and four side members. Each corner piece is formed with two tubular formations which are at right angles to each other and which have longitudinally extending slots in their respective walls. The side members have formations and which are complementary in shape to the tubular formations and which are frictionally engageable therewith. The opposed ends of each side member are engaged with two corner pieces respectively whereby a square or rectangular frame is constructed for a planar member with peripheral portions of the planar member being located in longitudinally extending openings in the side members respectively.
A decorative piece for securing together the mitered edges of two frame sections, comprises a locking plate having two threaded apertures for receiving tightening screws, and a backing plate, whereby tightening of the screws forces the locking plate and backing plate apart to clamp the frame sections together. A cosmetic extension attached to one of the plates is adapted to fit between the mitered edges of the adjacent frame sections. The cosmetic extension includes a top portion and a transverse extension arm which provide an attractive junction for the adjacent frame sections which obscures the mitered joint.
A frame for a poster and the like, includes at least one edge support for an edge of the poster, having an inverted generally T-shaped back plate having a base leg and an upstanding leg disposed generally normally to the base leg and having a first end interconnected, generally centrally of the base leg and a second end. The edge support also has a generally C-shaped dome member having a center section interconnected with the second end of the upstanding leg of the back plate and two curved legs, each of which extend toward opposite ends of the base leg of the base plate to define a gap between the ends of the curved legs and the base leg for the purpose of receiving the respective edge of the poster. The frame also includes at least one fastening element associated with the edge support for fastening the poster edge thereto having first and second legs and being substantially C-shaped to overlay the C-shaped member of the edge support and engage therewith with a snap fit. The legs of the fastening element extend beyond the ends of the curved legs of the C-shaped dome member and toward the base leg of the back plate, to press the poster edge against the base leg to thereby fasten the same. A double-sided poster frame is also disclosed.
A picture hanger has two portions that are movably connected to each other. One portion is fixed to a picture to be hung on a support, and one portion is attached to a picture hanging element, such as a nail, or a picture hanging hook, or the like that is fixed to a support such as a wall. The portions of the picture hanger are moved with respect to each other to locate and orient the picture once the picture is hung on the support.
A label in accordance with the present invention includes a base having a transparent window and an adjacent frame at least substantially surrounding the window, the frame being at least somewhat thicker than the window; a locating projection on the base for repeatably positioning an indicia bearing insert at least partially within the window; alignment holes on the frame; a cover having a transparent window portion and an adjacent frame portion at least substantially surrounding the window portion; alignment projections cooperating with the alignment holes for positioning the cover and base relative to each other with the transparent window portions of the cover and base at least substantially in registration; and at least one seal formed between the cover and the base at least substantially surrounding the window portions of the cover and the base for forming a sealed pocket for receiving an indicia bearing insert.
