The present invention relates to a rotary-type metering device making it possible to dispense granular substances consisting of fine particles which are difficult to handle. The metering device consists of a spherical core rotating around a horizontal axis inside a casing comprising a feed orifice and an outlet orifice. The spherical core comprises at least one cavity having an opening at the surface of the core, and sides and bottom within the core. This cavity has the shape of a volume consisting of two volumes of revolution, contiguous and coaxial, V.sub.1 and V.sub.2, with an axis perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the spherical core. The volume V.sub.1 is a truncated cone of revolution or a cylinder of revolution.
The invention relates to a method and device for feeding a mud-like catalyst mixture into a polymerization reactor. The catalyst mixture is fed from a container into a batching space of a feeder connected thereto, from which channel the catalyst mixture is further fed by batches into the polymerization reactor by the use of the pressure of a medium fed into the feeder. In accordance with the invention, after each catalyst batch fed into the polymerization reactor, the medium is substantially removed from the batching space of the feeder by leading the medium via an outlet channel into a space between two on/off valves before filling the batching space with a new catalyst batch.
A container dispenser having a lid and a case housing is disclosed. The dispenser includes an outlet at a bottom portion of the case housing and communicating with a vertical passage, a wing rotating within the case housing and dropping articles into the vertical passage, a cylindrical framework receiving the article through the vertical passage and dropping the same into the outlet while making a rotation in the vertical transfer passage, a rotational means formed in an external portion of the case housing and sequentially rotating the wing and the cylindrical framework; and a sealing means for sealing the framework to prevent the ambient coming in through the outlet from being flowed into the housing.
A system of equipment allowing addition of solid materials to a pressurized pipeline wherein said solid material is conveyed in such a way as to be readily dissolved by the liquid in said pipeline. The system includes a solid material transfer device that is used to transfer solid material to the point of intake in a pressurized pipeline, without allowing liquid from the process pipeline to access the solid material in the solid material feeder. The system of equipment has been found to be particularly useful in feeding pellets containing resazurin.

Hydrogen is generated through the use of a fuel solution that is prepared using solid fuel component, e.g., a metal borohydride, and a liquid fuel component, e.g. water. Both of these components are dispensed in response to control signals. The solid fuel component can take different forms, including but not limited to granules, pellets and powder. Various devices, which operate in response to control signals, are disclosed for dispensing predetermined amounts of the solid and liquid components. Advantageously, this solution can be prepared, as needed, so as to obviate the need for storing and disposing of large amounts of highly alkaline fuel and discharged fuel solutions.
