A ready-to-assemble cabinet requiring no fasteners for assembly. Side panels interlock with a back panel, front rail, and shelves to form a free-standing, self-supporting unit.
There is disclosed a cabinet which is formed of wood substrate panels in which a plurality of flat side and end panels have end slots which interlocked together to form a cabinet subassembly. Each end slot extends half the height of its respective panel and has a sufficient width to receive the next adjacent panel in the subassembly. The final assembly also includes top and bottom frames formed of interconnected stringers, one stringer each coextensive with the top edge of each of the flat panels, with each of the stringers having a groove coextensive its length which receives the top edge of its respective panel, thereby interlocking the assembly without use of mechanical fasteners or glue into a strong cabinet which resists racking.
A device for supporting drawing media which includes an easel for permitting simultaneous use by more than one person and having at least three side panels. Each side panel has a substantially planar front face and rear face, a bottom edge, and two side edges, the edges forming at least a portion of the periphery of the panel. The panels has disposed proximate to one side edge thereof, means for removably interlocking with mating interlocking means disposed proximate a second side edge of another panel. When interlocked, the panels form a hollow polygon with an open bottom, each facet of the polygon constituting a surface for supporting media to be drawn upon. Alternatively, the panels can be directly drawn upon and erased.
A shelving unit that comprises shelves that are interconnected without fasteners to form a free standing piece of furniture, having a base shelf and at least one additional shelf, a plurality of spaced apart elongated mutually parallel slots disposed transversely in the rear edge of each of said shelves intermediate the first and second ends thereof, at least one brace-receiving slot disposed in the rear edge of the base shelf, a plurality of support members, each having front and rear edges, a plurality of elongated mutually parallel slots disposed in the front edge of each of said support members, whereby the slots in the support members are sized and adapted for interlocking engagement with corresponding slots in the shelves, at least one brace-receiving slot in the rear edge of each of said support members and at least one brace member having ends that are respectively adapted to be disposed in the brace-receiving slot of the base shelf and the support member.
A beverage brewer is provided which can be assembled without tools from a plurality of component parts and subassemblies. The brewer includes a housing and an internal tank which engages the body of the housing by means of a tank support system. The tank support system attaches the tank to the housing body through relative rotating between the tank and the housing body. A detachable outflow spout on the tank, when attached to the tank, engages a portion of the housing body and prevents rotation of the tank, thereby interlocking the tank to the housing body. A removable access panel on the front of the brewer engages the outflow spout and prevents its detachment from the tank when the panel is in place on the body. The panel thereby locks the tank into the housing, as well as closes the housing. The access panel is locked into place using a key lock. Additional parts of the brewer, including the bottom panel and legs, can be detached without tools only when the panel is removed. All major internal components of the brewer are accessible for disassembly, service and replacement by removing the panel using the key lock.
The Interlocking Aquarium Support System with Multifunctional Decorative Facade allows for the facade of the aquarium stand to be changed without dismantling the aquarium system. The aquarium is supported end to end at center, front to back and under all sides by vertical supports, a base and top while still providing ample room for storage. The interlocking of the elements prevents movement of the aquarium under load. A foam layer between the aquarium and stand compensate for unevenness and vibration. The stand assembles and disassembles without tools or fasteners and stacks flat when not in use. The removable multifunctional decorative facade is constructed of various materials that provide decor and functionality such as storage, doors, folding sides, graphics, print, and perform functions that enable one to play games of skill or chance inside the aquarium where coin is exchanged for play and the controls are on the facade.
