An activity kit for drawing, painting, sewing or the like, comprising a rigid case providing a flat activity surface and a cavity within the case for receiving a roll of medium, such as paper on which the activity is to be carried out. Medium from the roll is fed between medium guide positioned on the activity surface adjacent in the direction of dispensing of the medium. A medium dispensing control may be provided to restrict the medium which can be pulled at one time to only so much as would cover the activity surface. The kit according to the present invention provides a portable, compact activity center for young children in which the wastage of medium, such as drawing paper may be minimized through use of the medium dispensing control.
A kit is arranged to provide a housing having a light-sensitive self-illuminating web receiving templates thereon, wherein a flashlight member is directed onto the templates, and more specifically to the template openings to provide for patterns to be illuminated by the self-illuminating web when the templates are removed. The kit structure is arranged to include a plurality of such templates stored within a housing cavity, and may optionally be provided with a lid arranged to secure the templates within the housing cavity, as well as a template mounted upon the web during use.
An educational device having a housing with a flat surface to which a mirror is removable attached. A transparent or translucent sheet removable positioned over the mirror. A marking implement enables a user to apply marks to his or her own reflection in the mirror.
This invention provides a graphing system that enables an average person interested in reproducing a colored design by needlework, for which there is no existing graph, to quickly and easily graph the colored design for reproduction by such needlework as cross stitch, needlepoint, quilting, smocking, duplicate stitch, or knitting.
A toy has a frame with a display area for receiving a water reactive paper. The paper has a brightly colored substrate covered by a surface layer of silica and resin which becomes transparent when wet and opaque when dry so that the bright color does or does not show through depending upon whether the surface is wet or dry. Thus, the paper appears to have disappearing ink.
Apparatus in accordance with the invention comprises a lightweight puzzle game holder, easily held by a game player in one hand, and puzzle game sheets replaceably held in the holder. The holder comprises base and cover components. The cover is hinged to the base and opens and closes to permit loading of a replaceable puzzle game sheet, the latter containing a collection of multiple puzzle games printed on a writable medium such as paper. The cover contains a window dimensioned to frame a single puzzle game in the collection for viewing and solving by a game player. In solving the base player writes on the game. The base contains a platen opposite the cover window, the platen forming a hard backing surface facilitating writing by a game player. In one embodiment, the holder contains a storage compartment beneath the platen, for storing e.g. a pencil sharpener, pencils, etc. In another embodiment, the platen in the holder is translucent and the space beneath the platen contains a light, a battery and an on/off switch. When the light is energized, a puzzle game situated above the platen is clearly backlit enabling a player to solve the puzzle in a dark room (e.g. a bedroom). Each puzzle game refill sheet comes rolled up on a "feed" spool, the latter reusable as a "takeup" spool. The outer end of the sheet is secured to the remainder of the sheet by a piece of reusable tape. The tape is reused to secure the outer end of the sheet to a takeup spool, and instructions printed on the tape inform the game player of that use.
