A manual combinatorial weighing apparatus having one or more weighing devices housed in a casing with each weighing device having a scale plate for placing articles thereon, and indicators associated with the weighing devices for indicating selected weighing devices. As many weighing devices in casings as desired by the user are provided in a desired layout. Weight data items of the articles put on the scale plates are combined to find a weight combination giving a desired total weight. The selected weighing devices are indicated by the indicators, which are held energized until the articles are removed from the selected weighing devices.
One kind of combination weigher, used for selecting a predetermined number of articles having substantially same weights from a group of articles having substantial variance or inequality in their weights, which is provided with a plurality of independent weigh units and adapted to weigh an article by each unit at the same time, process the resultant weight signals by a computer to select a combination of a predetermined number of weight signals whose variance or inequality satisfies a predetermined condition from various combinations of the weight signals, and indicate those weight units attributable to the selected combination by pilot lamps, for example.
A combination weighing apparatus for performing a combination weighing of a plurality of articles to be weighed includes a plurality of containers Tb each bearing an information storage medium 1 on or from which product information including a weight value of the article to be weighed M2 is recorded or read-out, respectively, a write-in device 15 for writing the product information in the information storage medium 1, a read-out device 16 for reading the product information from the information storage medium 1, and a calculating device 4 for combining respective weight values of the articles to be weighed M2 which have been read out and for selecting a combination having a weight equal or approximating to a target value within a predetermined weight allowance. This combination weighing apparatus is effective to accomplish an easy and accurate combination calculation even though the order of transport of the articles to be weighed M2 changes.
