A folding table construction embodying a planar top, foldable legs and a novel apron assembly connected to the underside of the top. The apron unit comprises elongated discrete, relatively short straight lengths of formed metal side and end strips, or stringers, which are securely interconnected together by spaced apart, one-piece, blow molded corner moldings adapted to be affixed to the underside of the table top. Due to the novel design of the corner moldings and the stringers, the construction of the supporting apron requires no metal bending or welding. Further, the corner moldings can be colored during the molding step and the stringers can be painted to match in small painting units prior to apron assembly. In an alternate form of the invention, the planar top is constructed in two pieces and the side stringers are constructed in two pieces which are hingably interconnected so that the table top can be folded for ease of transport and storage.
A fitting for a table leg of a folding table which can be folded in when the table is not in use, wherein the table leg is pivotally mounted in a bearing component attached underneath the table plate. In the position of use of the table, the table leg can be locked. A drop lever is pivotally mounted in the bearing component. When the table leg is folded out into the position of use of the table, the drop lever automatically as a result of gravity locks the table leg against a stop serving as an abutment and automatically unlocks the table leg when the table is placed in a stacking position.
A molding press for simultaneously molding a product and laminating a pattern layer to the surface of the molded product comprising a bottom mold plate, a top mold plate, a mold ring element surrounding the mold plates and moveable independently of the top and bottom mold plates, an upper surface on said mold ring for engaging a peripheral edge of the top mold plate, and a flat groove in said mold ring upper surface which is slightly deeper than the thickness of a pattern layer to be laminated to the top surface of the final molded product.
A folding table has table top halves of molded plastic which are hinged together along a transverse center line of the table by a hinge assembly which includes spaced hinges with a common hinge pin. The hinge pin forms a carrying handle for the table which is exposed when the table is closed and which is concealed between the table top halves when the table is opened. The table top halves have integral moldings for fitting folding metal legs as well as telescopic longitudinal reinforcing bars and transverse reinforcing bars.
A folding table has table top halves of molded plastic which are hinged together along a transverse center line of the table. The table top halves have integral moldings for fitting folding metal legs as well as telescopic longitudinal metal reinforcing bars and transverse reinforcing bars held in place by the longitudinal reinforcing bars. The table has a unique carrying handle arrangement and latching assemblies for holding the table top halves in an open position.
A table that is useful alone and in combination with a tray and/or other inserts supported atop the table. The table is of a unitary molded plastic construction and is configured for nested stacking with like tables for convenient and compact storage and handling. The table has a top surface of regular polygonal shape with four truncated corners, and a plurality of legs depending from the table top at respective ones of the truncated corners. The legs, going from top to bottom, diverge outwardly with each being in the form of a channel that opens inwardly for nested receipt of a corresponding leg of a subjacent table of like construction. The table top has an upstanding marginal rim extending along the peripheral edge of the top surface thereof, and the marginal rim functions to prevent objects from rolling or sliding off the top surface and/or as containment structure for an insert such as a decorative panel and/or a removable tray that may have a design printed thereon. The table and tray combination can be stacked in nested relationship with like tray and table combinations.
