Abstract
A storage case (13) is intended for a magnetic-tape cassette of a type comprising a housing (1) having a U-shaped slide (7) which is arranged on the outside of the housing (1) so as to be slidable along a bottom wall (2) with a main portion (7) and along two facing side walls (4,5) of the housing (1) with two side portions (7b,7c). The side portions (7b,7c) extend from the main portion (7a) up to substantially half the height of the side walls (4,5). In a closed position of the cassette a rear edge of the side (7) which faces a rear wall (9) of the housing (1) is spaced from the front of raised portions (2a) of the bottom wall (2) and the side walls (4,5) so that in the closed position a slot (10) is formed in the housing (1), between the front of said raised portions (2 a) and the rear edge of the slide (7) which slot extends over the entire width of the bottom and up to substantially half the height of the side walls (4,5). The slot (10) is situated at a shorter distance from the rear wall (9) than from a front wall (6) of the housing (1). The storage case (13) comprises a bottom section (14) and a cover section (15). In the storage case (13) above the bottom section (14) at least one positioning element (22,23) is provided which when a cassette is present in the storage case (13) engages at least a part of the slot (10) and thereby unambiguously defines the position of the cassette inside the storage case (13).

In an encasing mechanism for a cassette enclosing a magnetic record medium, the mechanism provides a cassette with a recess formed at a first surface of the cassette to identify first and second surfaces and first and second edges of the cassette, a case main body, and a cover coupled rotatably to the case main body to be openable relative to the case main body, in which the cover includes at least one projection formed on an inner surface of the cover. The projection is fitted into the recess so that the cover is closed relative to the case main body in an inserted arrangement of the cassette into the case main body. The encasing mechanism is capable of encasing the magnetic record medium cassette only when the cassette is correctly positioned in the case main body.

5289616 - Hinge with motion limiting mechanism

A motion limiting device for hingedly connected storage containers which includes a motion limiting protrusion, an arcuate slot, a rib, and an arcuate groove. The motion limiting protrusion and the rib are abutted and formed in the rear sidewall portion of a first member. The arcuate slot and arcuate groove are correspondingly shaped and formed in the rear sidewall portion of a second member such that the motion limiting protrusion and rib become matingly engaged with the arcuate slot and arcuate groove respectively when the first member and second member are hingedly connected.
