5840240 - Method of making a silicone composite vascular graft - Owned by Possis Medical, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN)

A silicone/DACRON polyester composite vascular graft especially well suited as an arteriovenous (A-V) graft fistula for dialysis application. The graft has the ability to seal around needle puncture holes without externally applied pressure, excellent anti-kink, anti-crush and strength properties, and a smooth non-porous inner surface which reduces thrombus deposition and enhances the graft wall compliance or elasticity.

5628782 - Method of making a prosthetic vascular graft - Owned by W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. (Newark, DE)

A vascular graft in the form of a tube or flat sheet of biocompatible material having an outer covering of deflectably secured material such as porous film, fibers, discrete pieces of material, or combinations thereof. Two different types of fibers may also be used. The vascular graft may be of tubular form for replacing or bypassing entire segments of veins or arteries or alternatively may be in the form of a flat sheet useful for repairing portions of the circumference of veins or arteries. The tube or flat sheet of biocompatible material and the outer covering of deflectably secured material are preferably of porous polytetrafluoroethylene. The inventive vascular graft is useful for dialysis access in that it offers a reduction in blood leakage when the vascular graft is punctured by a dialysis needle and the needle is subsequently removed. It is also useful for reducing suture hole bleeding resulting from holes created through the graft by penetration of the graft with a suture needle.

6514283 - Intraluminal lining - Owned by Boston Scientific Corporation (Natick, MA)

The present invention is directed to a prosthesis for implantation within a body lumen. The prosthesis includes a biocompatible elongate intraluminal liner in the form of a graft, with a biocompatible adhesive being disposed on an exterior surface of the graft. The adhesive is active in an intraluminal environment so as to bond the exterior surface of the graft to an intraluminal surface of said body lumen, such as the interior of a blood vessel.

7485111 - Medicated sleeve

Embodiments of the invention provide a stretchable sleeve having a medicinal section that can be loaded with a medicinal composition and a perforated section comprising a plurality of openings, wherein the medicinal section and the perforated section overlap, and wherein the sleeve is sized so that the interior surface of the medicinal section comfortably fits a body portion and the medicinal section contacts the body portion at the site of pain. Embodiments of the invention also provide methods for preparing a sleeve by applying a medicinal composition to the inner surface of the medicinal section through the openings at the perforated section. Embodiments of the invention also provide methods for relieving pain in a body portion by pulling the sleeve in an outside-out configuration straight up a body portion without having to roll and flip its exterior surface outside.
