Abstract
A movable cover device for an automobile lock, comprising a plate supporting the lock operating actuator and fixed to a wall of an automobile compartment, and a cover pivoted on the plate, the device having in the cover an area substantially equal to that of the plate and is provided with a pivot substantially orthogonal to its wall and rotatably supported by a bush which is rigid with the plate and is also orthogonal to its wall, so that the walls of the plate and of the cover are in contact, at least when they are completely superposed.

7387004 - Latch for a mobile part of a vehicle body, such as a flap or a door, especially a rear opening - Owned by Huf Hulsbeck & Furst GmbH & Co. KG (Velbert,DE)

The invention relates to a latch which must enable the locked mobile part (10) of a motor vehicle body to be released if necessary by means of a key-actuated closing cylinder (40), in order to manually open the mobile part (10). A handle (21) is provided on the mobile part (10) for the opening of the same (10), said handle being able to pivot in a vertical plane in relation to the vehicle body. When the handle is in its closed position (20.1), it is essentially flush with the vehicle body. In the outwardly pivoted open position, the handle can be gripped by a hand, also enabling the closing cylinder (40) to be accessed by the key. In order to provide the latch with a compact design, the handle (21) is embodied as a carrier for the closing cylinder (40) and forms a pivotable arrangement (20) therewith. A rotary coupling member (45) which can be actuated by the closing cylinder (40) is located on said arrangement (20) and participates in the pivoting movement. A rotary coupling counter-member (35) is located on a defined region of the mobile part (10) and acts on the lock. In the closed position (20.1) of the arrangement (20), the rotary coupling member (45) is decoupled from the rotary coupling counter-member (35), but in the open position, is in a coupling position which enables the transfer of torque.

5718137 - Fork lock cover

A motorcycle having a fork lock includes a cover which is adapted to be manually moved between a cover position where the cover overlies the fork lock and an uncovered position where the fork lock is exposed to allow a key to be inserted into the fork lock. The cover has a pivot member pivotally connecting the cover to the motorcycle to enable the cover to be rotated with respect to the fork lock to expose the fork lock so that the key may be inserted into the fork lock. A detent member maintains the relative position of the cover to the motorcycle so that the cover overlies the fork lock to cover the fork lock until a turning force is applied to the cover to move the cover between the cover position and the uncovered position.

7610784 - Keyway cover for a lock - Owned by Master Lock Company LLC (Oak Creek, WI)

A lock assembly includes a lock body and a keyway covering member. The lock body includes a keyway disposed on an outer surface. The keyway covering member is assembled with the outer surface of the lock body, and is slideable between a covering orientation and an uncovering orientation. When the keyway covering member is in the covering orientation, a covering portion of the keyway covering member aligns with the keyway to cover the keyway. When the keyway covering member is in the uncovering orientation, an opening in the keyway covering member aligns with the keyway to permit insertion of a key in the keyway.

6408661 - Padlock assembly with a two-part U-shaped lock casing

A padlock assembly includes a first lock casing part having a lock core mounting portion formed with a core receiving space in a longitudinal direction, and a first shackle mounting portion that extends in a first transverse direction from one side of the lock core mounting portion. A lock mechanism includes a key operated lock core disposed rotatably in the core receiving space, and a latch member connected to one end of the lock core in such a manner that the latch member is disposed outwardly of the core receiving space. A second lock casing part has a latch engaging portion formed with a latch recess and a latch retainer disposed therein to partition the latch recess into a latch retention portion and a latch entrance portion via which the latch member is extendible into the latch retention portion and so as to be rotatable therein between locking and unlocking positions. The latch retainer engages the latch member when disposed in the latch retention portion to prevent removal of the same in the longitudinal direction away from the latch engaging portion. A shackle bar extends between the first and second shackle mounting portions, and has one end connected removably to a respective one of the shackle mounting portions.

6574999 - Padlock with a U-shaped lock casing

A padlock includes a U-shaped lock casing having intercommunicated core receiving space and latch recess, aligned first and second shackle insert holes, and a slide channel communicating the second shackle insert hole with the latch recess. A lock core unit is received in the core receiving space, and includes a latch member extending into the latch recess and rotatable inside the latch recess between locking and unlocking positions. The latch member has an end face formed with a pin hole eccentric to an axis of the lock core unit. A shackle bar extends into the first and second shackle insert holes. A catch member is disposed slidably in the latch recess, and is formed with a pin extending rotatably into the pin hole in the latch member for engaging the latch member.
