The organopolysiloxane composition of the invention is a highly viscous liquid or paste suitable as a base of pasty cosmetic and medicinal preparations such as creams, hair-dressings, ointments and the like. The composition comprises an oligomeric cyclic organopolysiloxane compound, an oleaginous material and a cellulose ether esterified with long-chain alkanoyl groups as the thickening agent. The cosmetic and medicinal preparations prepared from the inventive composition as the base have good spreadability on the human skin and are capable of giving very refreshing feeling to the user or patient without lasting stickiness.
A lactone-modified silicone composition comprising a lactone-modified silicone compound of general formula (I), and a low-viscosity silicone oil of general formula (II) having a viscosity of not more than 100 cSt at 25.degree. C., a cosmetic agent containing it, and a lustering agent containing it. ##STR1## In formula (I) above, R.sup.1 is the same or a different group selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, a substituted or non-substituted phenyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, or a phenylalkylene group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms consisting of a substituted or non-substituted phenyl group and an alkylene group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms, and wherein at least 50 wt. % of R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms; A and B is each the same or a different group, and represents a methyl or R.sup.2 Z group; wherein R.sup.2 represents a polyester group having an average molecular weight of 200 to 100,000 obtained by lactone ring opening polymerization; z is a divalent group that connects a silicon atom to an R.sup.2 group; x is an integer of 3 to 1,000; y is an integer of 0 to 50; and in formula (II) above, R is a substituted or non-substituted, the same or a different, monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; and a is a number of from 1.8 to 2.3. The lactone-modified silicone composition is stable and may be smoothly spread, and it is exceptionally useful as a component for cosmetic agents and lustering agents.
The pasty organopolysiloxane composition is compounded from a methyl phenyl polysiloxane fluid and 5 to 50% by weight of a fatty acid ester of saccharose. The composition is highly transparent and useful as a base of various kinds of pasty preparations for cosmetic and medicinal uses to give an advantage of refreshed feeling without stickiness to the person using the preparation by applying to the skin after wiping off because the composition is free from the problem of powdery residue when the preparation on the skin has been wiped off.
The specification describes and claims a paste-like preparation comprising (A) a paste-like base comprising a polyorganosiloxane and a water-soluble polymeric material which are preferably present in a ratio by weight from 3:6 to 6:3 and (B) an active ingredient.
The invention relates to a cosmetic preparation containing a metallic effect pigment which consists of a metal substrate having a layer enclosing the substrate. Said layer is produced in a sol/gel method, has a barrier effect against sweat and saliva and prevents a direct contact between skin and metallic substrate, the metallic pigment being hydrophilic. The inventive preparation can be in the form of a cream, a lotion, an eye shadow, a nail varnish, a lipstick, a mascara, a gel, a make-up formulation or a self-tanning cream or lotion.
