Abstract
The device comprises a support (4, 8, 9) fastened by gripping to engagement surfaces (14, 15) of a weapon (1) to which there is attached, by articulation around a hinge (5), a container (6) which in a swung-down bottom position covers the loading handle (2) and the window (3) for the ejection of the cases of the cartridges fired. The container (6) has an inner case-retention wall (13, 17) rising up to the window (3). A system for the immobilizing of the container (6) by ratchet (10, 11, 12) in three positions (18, 19, 20) makes it possible temporarily to maintain the container in a bottom position (18) in order to collect the cases (21), in an intermediate position (19) in order to permit the handling of the loading handle (2) and possibly of the members concealed in the bottom position without losing the cases collected, and in a top position (20) in order to recover the cases collected, which fall by gravity, and in order to permit easy inspection of the cartridge chamber.

6173520 - Cartridge case catcher

A device for catching and holding spent cartridges ejected from a conventional AR-15, M16, AR-10, or similar type rifle. The device consists of a steel frame with a cloth bag and two mounting pins that removably attach to a mount connected to the rifle. This positions said bag adjacent to the rifle's ejection port to catch spent cartridges during firing of the weapon.

7168200 - Gun shell catcher device

A shell catcher for use with hand-held firearms adjustably detachably mounts on a side of the firearm for receiving and retaining spent shells expelled by the firearm. The shell catcher has a base, which mounts on a side of the firearm and a collapsible flexible housing, which is detachably pivotally mounted on the mounting base. The housing is stretched on a rigid frame that moves between a closed position when the shells are received in the housing and an open position allowing unobstructed view of the gun chamber. The spent shells are removed from the housing by means of opening the bottom of the housing or by removing the housing from the base.

5651208 - Cartridge casting collector

A cartridge casing collector, for use with rifles of the type having a cartridge casing ejection port in connection with the exterior of the rifle, including a housing member having a collecting chamber formed therein in communication with a casing receiving aperture, and a spring loaded gripping assembly secured to the housing assembly for securing the casing receiving aperture over the ejection port of a rifle in a manner such that cartridge casings ejected from the ejection port are directed through the cartridge casing receiving aperture and into the collecting chamber. The collecting chamber is at least partially defined by an interior surface having a radius of curvature between three and one-eight (3-1/8") and five and one-half (5-1/2") inches and a length corresponding to an arc of at least thirty (30.degree.) degrees of the radius of curvature.

7493720 - Spent ammunition cartridge case deflector

A safety device for deflecting spent ammunition cartridge cases away from a rifleman as they exit the ejector port of a semiautomatic or automatic rifle. In a first embodiment, intended for use with a rifle from which the carrying handle has been removed from the rifle's upper receiver rail in order to mount a monocular night vision device or other rail-mountable device, the deflector includes a deflector plate pivotably attached to a base plate and movable between a lower, ejector port covering position and an upper, ejector port uncovering position. A thumb-screw adjustable clamp attaches a front end of the base plate to the rail. A rear wall attached to the base plate has a rocker arm mechanism for alternately capturing the deflector plate in the lower position and releasing it to move to the upper position. A second embodiment has two spaced-apart clamps attached to a base plate for attaching the deflector to a rifle's carrying handle, but is otherwise similar to the first embodiment.

5934002 - Empty shell collector for fire arm - Owned by Her Majesty the Queen in right of Canada, as represented by the Minister (Ottawa,CA)

A device for receiving and collecting spent shells ejected from a firearm having an spent shell ejection port. The invention comprises a hollow conduit which is shaped analogous to and surrounding the natural ejection path of the shell casings when mounted at the ejection port of the firearm by fastening clips. The ejected empty shells are collected in a receiving container attached to a flexible tubing which is attached to the conduit. An extension device for the cocking handle of the firearm may be required which improves handling of the weapon when the spent shell collector is installed.
