Abstract
A corner forming unit of a package forming machine which employs an H-shaped guide over which the packaging material passes after it has been longitudinally sealed. A pair of rollers outside of the tube of material forms the edges of the packaging material into the H-shaped guide to form the corners of the material from which individual filled rectangular packages will be formed.

6514185 - Method and apparatus for producing tubular hollow items - Owned by SIG Combibloc Systems GmbH (DE)

In a method and an apparatus for producing tubular hollow items, in particular for containers, form card material or the like, to improve the efficiency and thus to reduce the costs on the production of known packages, the following steps are proposed: transporting a blank bound by longitudinal edges, or a web of card material or the like, from which the blank is separated into a bending station, the blank or the web being bent by guide elements acting as a bending apparatus and then being held stationary in the bending station and being bent by means of movable bending apparati into the finished shape of the hollow item and an overlap region being formed, in which the two longitudinal edges of the blank, which are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the hollow item, are placed one on top of the other and are connected to one another and the hollow item being conveyed out of the bending station.

5957823 - Folding mechanism for a bag knitting apparatus

A folding mechanism for a bag knitting apparatus which is intended to fold inwardly the text-printed sides of the double-layer material strip to overcome the problems of conventional bag knitting apparatus. The folding mechanism comprises a clamping roller set, a folding rod set, a supporting set, and a pressing wheel set. The double-layer material strip to be folded is opened to enclose the lower end of the folding rod set such that the sides are positioned between groove surfaces formed on the outer sides of the folding rod set and the pressing wheel set. The material strip is folded as it passes upward between the groove surfaces of the folding rod set and the pressing wheel set.

5685132 - Bag forming, filling and sealing machine - Owned by Robert Bosch GmbH (Stuttgart,DE)

A bag forming, filling and sealing machine for producing bag packages with a base or block bottom comprising a forming tube whose lower part has two segments that accomplish a transition from a circular inlet cross section to a rectangular outlet cross section via a square intermediate cross section. As a result of the intermediate cross section, differences in length longitudinally along the jacket lines from the circular inlet cross section to the rectangular outlet cross section of the forming tube are virtually equalized. As a result, bulging and corrugation of the packaging material at the side faces of the bag packages is virtually precluded.
