Abstract
In a conveyor for transporting a vehicle or other object in one direction along a track having a longitudinal slot centered upon a longitudinal axis, a power-driven endless chain and at least one pusher dolly connected to the chain. The dolly includes an upright arm extending through and movably mounted upon the track. A link pivotally interconnects the arm and the chain for movement in unison, and an elongated chain guide or guides centrally underlie the track and are arranged upon the longitudinal axis and secured to the track. Each chain guide cooperatively receives the chain and maintains it in registry with the axis against lateral deflection.

7243605 - Car wash conveyor - Owned by Belanger, Inc. (Northville, MI)

An auto-laundry conveyor of three-tier design using upper, lower and intermediate track rails with a narrow slot between them. Dollies are provided in an endless loop conveyor chain and each dolly comprises a combination of a center link, a pair of reversely similar tire engaging rollers, a pair of reversely similar track engaging rollers outboard of the tire engaging rollers and a pair of reversely similar stabilizing rollers outboard of the track engaging rollers. The stabilizing rollers are effectively larger in diameter; i.e., higher than the track engaging rollers so as to prevent rolling contact between the stabilizing rollers and the track surface and to receive the tread surface of an off-center tire and keep the tread surface from interfering with rolling movement of the track engaging rollers. The conveyor is manufactured in 10-foot lengths except for the entry and exit sections which are of lengths X and Y wherein X plus Y equals 10 feet. An open track structure is used to prevent the accumulation of dirt and debris.

6647894 - Car wash wheel push roller dolly

A car wash wheel push roller dolly (20) is used for transporting a vehicle by pushing the vehicle wheel on a horizontal track in a car wash system consisting basically of a polyurethane dolly body (22) with an integrally formed upward portion (36) and a gusset (38) connecting the front to the rear. A front axle (40), a first rear axle (42) and a second rear axle (44) are all integrally formed with the dolly body and extend outwardly from each side of the body at right angles. Each distal end of the axles include a groove (46) adjacent to their ends. A pair of front rollers (50) are disposed on the front axle, next to a pair of conveyer chain links (48) also a pair of first rear rollers (52) and second rear rollers (54) engage their respective axles with all of the rollers attached with retaining rings (60). When a vehicle is positioned on the car wash endless chain conveyer horizontal track (58) and the chain links are attached to the endless chain, the vehicle may be pushed forward by the dolly. The dolly interfaces with the conveyer system with the front rollers positioned beneath the track, the first rear rollers engage track top and the second rear rollers engage the tire vehicle wheel (56) on the track top, the vehicle is then propelled thought the car wash by the chain.

5177825 - Compact drive-through vehicle wash - Owned by Belanger, Inc. (Northville, MI)

A drive-through wash of a type in which a vehicle is translated forwardly along a longitudinal axis is disclosed. The wash includes a frame affixed to the floor and sized to allow the vehicle to pass therethrough. Right and left side washers are attached to the frame and are longitudinally aligned with one another for washing the right and left sides of the vehicle. A curtain washer is attached to the frame in lateral alignment with the right and left side washers and extends into the path of the vehicle. Right and left wraparound washers, each respectively having an elongated right and left booms are horizontally, pivotably attached to the frame on opposite sides, above the path of the vehicle, and extend rearwardly therefrom. Rotatable right and left wraparound wheels are supported on a pair of carriages that slide upon the elongated booms. The elongated booms pivot relative to the frame allowing the wraparound wheels to follow the contour of the vehicle passing through the wash. The overall assembly is a very compact apparatus that provides a relatively high quality wash in a limited time.
