A system and a method of monitoring and displaying in which control screen indicating a control data of a control device for process control displayed on the display screen of a display unit by a touch operation on a diagram of the control device, the control data being further selected by another touch operation. The display condition of the control data display area thus changes, the operator being permitted to visually check whether the operation has been selected correctly. After visual confirmation, a switch disposed outside of the display screen and corresponding to the called control screen is operated to start the operation of the control device determined for control for the first time at this time point. In case of a combined display of a control device and a control screen, on the other hand, a first display unit is utilized such that the called control screen is displayed at a position far from the control device to be controlled, thereby not hiding the control device display. The control screen may be moved to a given position on the system diagram. A second display unit is utilized such that the original system diagram is displayed in a reduced form in combination with and not superimposed on the called control screen. The control screen and the control-related screen are called repeatedly so that when the reduction rate of the original system diagram exceeds a critical value, the reduction rate is fixed to a predetermined value and the control screens are displayed in scroll.
An interactive computer system with plural displays includes a first computer, having an input device and an output including a display and a second computer having an output including display coupled to the first computer.A voice recorder is provided to create an icon representing a recorded voice, and the icon is displayed on the display of the first computer. The input device of the first computer, which may be a mouse, is adapted to drag the icon from the display of the first computer to the display of the second computer, and to reproduce the recorded voice in response to a pointer displayed on the displays and controlled by the input device.
The invention provides integration of the automatic semiautomatic and manual modes on a single man-machine interface device (200,400), with the master control of a system parameter such as pressurizer level, which is responsive to at least two system components (charging pumps, letdown valves), each of which can adjust a different system variable. The setpoint for automatic master control, is selected and displayed (216) on the device, along with the current value (212) of the setpoint parameter (pressurizer level). In the semiautomatic master mode selectable by the operator on the device, either a setpoint (272) or an output demand (282) can be specified for one of the components (206), and the master controller will then adjust the other component (204) accordingly. When all subgroup controls are in the manual mode, the master controller is completely overridden by operator control of each component or subgroup.
Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing a display for a touch screen control system which is used to control plow heads in a web folder machine, the method comprising the steps of providing a touch screen interface; taking a picture of the plow head; digitizing the picture to create a digitized image of the plow head; and displaying the digitized image of the plow head on the touch screen interface.
Computer controlled processes rely upon graphical user interfaces to effect the man-machine interface. The page windows of the present invention are comprised of a base image screen that includes regions responsive to control and status stimuli, as well as static graphic representations. The base image screen is merged with a secondary image, which includes regions responsive to control and status stimuli, as well as static graphic representations. The process of merging the secondary image includes preventing the display of certain control and status regions on the base image, as dictated by the secondary image. Multiple secondary screens can be merged on the base image screen, thereby allowing multiple page windows to be created using only a base image and a plurality of secondary screens.
A method and apparatus for displaying on a display screen the controlling circuit in a plant controlling system for controlling a plant by a controller using a microcomputer. The display screen is segmented into a software region and a hardware region. The software circuit which is realized by software is displayed in the software region, and the hardware circuit related to the software circuit is displayed in the hardware region. The information, which is plotted during the interactive process and is displayed in the software regions, is automatically translated into a program for controlling the controller. Operation data of the plant is also given on the display screen. Desired circuit elements of the software circuit may be selected to change parameters of the circuit elements. Maintenance work can be carried out while observing the indication on the display screen without any aid of documents such as the maintenance manual or the like.
