Disclosed is a method that gives a priority service to enable a subscriber with an urgent message to call another subscriber who is already engaged in a telephone conversation, regardless of the reservation order, and sends an interrupt tone regularly to the target subscriber as a notification that he has a priority reservation and the subscriber engaged in the telephone conversation can link himself with the priority subscriber without having to cut off the current telephone conversation. The method comprises a plurality of control sequences performed in accordance with the attached flow chart figures.
The invention relates to call waiting started by a calling subscriber (subscriber A) on the busy line of a called subscriber (subscriber B). The calling subscriber starts the call setup to the called subscriber, whereby a call setup message is sent to the called subscriber. According to the invention, the call waiting method is characterized in that such a call waiting setting is set for the call to be set up with which call waiting is activated and a call priority value is set which expresses the urgency of the call, and the said call waiting setting and the said priority value are relayed to the called subscriber in connection with the call setup.
A hybrid interface apparatus for a key telephone system is disclosed, which apparatus is capable of interfacing a data and voice communication between a terminal such as a key telephone, a mobile telephone, a computer, etc. and a key telephone system. The hybrid interface apparatus according to the present invention includes more than at least one key telephone unit, a main apparatus for connecting the key telephones, a personal computer, and a multi-module connected between the main apparatus and a key telephone unit, a mobile telephone and a personal computer for interfacing a wire-based communication, a wireless communication and a data communication.
Apparatus that allows a called party, while engaged in a first call, to indicate to a second calling party that he/she is aware of the second call and will respond to the second call within a waiting time interval. The second calling party is given a "personal answer" message indicating that the called party will answer the second call within the waiting time interval. The second calling party is then placed on hold so that when the called party terminates the first call, the called party can answer the second call.
A call saving system for an ISDN telephone switching system includes a subscriber switching unit and terminal units connected to the subscriber switching unit via subscriber lines. A control device controls an overall call saving process executed between the subscriber switching unit and each terminal unit when a restart process is started after a call process is temporarily stopped. When a restart process is started, a restart message is transmitted to each terminal units on the basis of the presence/absence of a call to be saved. Each terminal unit includes a call state setting circuit for a state display message when information indicating a confirmation of a call saving is set in the restart message.
A telephone caller is permitted to retrieve his call from the central voice services feature of an unavailable called party, and resume the call progress by substituting a calling feature of his own. In a telephone system including a telephone switching facility and a voice features server, provision is made for enabling a calling party to invoke an appropriate calling party feature such as a ring back feature or an override feature, and thereby subsequently achieve a real time conversation with the called party instead of simply being able to leave a voice message for the called party.
