An audiographics conferencing arrangement for use in a business communication system allows the conferees to exchange displayed text and/or graphics stored locally in their respective data terminals. The conferees may change the displayed text and/or graphics and such changes are automatically distributed to the other data terminals so that all of the conferees view the same information. Moreover, a data terminal and its associated telephone station set may be included in an audiographics conference connection even though they are not directly served by the business communication system. In addition, one of the conferees may establish concurrent with the original audiographics conference connection a second audiographics conference connection with one or more other data terminals and transfer information obtained from one conference connection to the other conference connection.
A display of a video received from a plurality of communication terminals or video input terminals is effected satisfactorily in accordance with a state at a transmission terminal side. A communication terminal connected to other communication terminals via a network, characterized by comprising receiving unit for receiving a video from the plurality of communication terminals, display unit for displaying the received video on a multi-window, command receiving unit for receiving a change indication command to change a display state of the video received from the plurality of communication terminals, and control unit for changing a display state of window displaying the video received from the communication terminals which have issued the change indication command, upon receiving the change indication command from the command receiving unit.
An apparatus and a method of screen display whereby either a plurality of screens or a plurality of windows on a single screen are displayed. On at least one screen or in at least one window, areas representing either the other screens or the other windows are displayed. When a pointer pointing to a given position either on that one screen or in that one window is used to select any one of these areas therein, the pointer is made to appear either on another screen or in another window corresponding to the selected area.
In a TDM telecommunications terminal, wherein multiple line cards are connected to a TDM bus, each line card location is provided with an identification code. A processor controlled circuit generates a programmable sequence of identification codes which are transmitted on a configuration bus in time slots synchronized with the time slots of the TDM bus. The configuration bus is connected to each of the line cards, which include a comparator logic circuit for comparing the identification of the line card location to the identification codes provided on the configuration bus. When a match is detected, the line card is enabled and is given access to the TDM bus. Through the programmable reassignment of time slots to line cards, concentration may be provided by the system, and a plurality of time slots may be assigned to a single line card to provide broad band service.
Methods, apparatuses, and systems for processing audio data for a teleconference. A preferred system has a bridge terminal and a plurality of client terminals configured on a local area network. The bridge terminal intermittently receives packets of audio data from each client terminal, selectively mixes the audio data, and transmits packets of mixed audio data to the client terminals. The rate at which the bridge terminal mixes data is preferably greater than the rates at which the client terminals capture and play back audio data. Each client terminal implements special processing to determine how to handle each new packet of mixed audio data received from the bridge terminal. The special processing is based on the number of packets in the receiving buffer of the client terminal.
The invention concerns an integrated computer and telephony system and a method of integrated computer telephony using at least one switch capable of receiving incoming telephone calls and of dialing outgoing calls; a computer terminal associated with the switch; memory means associated with said computer terminal and adapted to store a plurality of phone numbers said switch including a plurality of virtual telephones each corresponding in use to an individual one of said associated numbers;means for recognising that a telephone number connected to the switch as an incoming call is associated with at least some of said plurality of numbers; and means for causing said switch to call each of said associated numbers in parallel.
