Abstract
A guiding pad for use in marking-out comprises a paper template 14 to one surface of one edge zone of which is adhered a foam plastics layer 6, upon the external surface of which is a medium tack adhesive layer 9 covered with a protective peel-off layer 10. On the other surface of the edge zone is a weaker adhesive layer 7 covered by a protective peel-off layer 8. One of the two surface portions of the template layer 14 not covered by adhesive have printed indications of an intended fold line of the layer 14 and of intended positions of striking plate screws of a magnetic latch, whilst the other of those two surface portions has printed indications of intended positions of latch body fixing screws and of a magnetically soft material rod.

A rod and shoe bracket is attached to a rod and shoe indicator on one of the door portion or the door-frame portion, and a door closer is attached to a door closer indicator on the other of the door portion or the door-frame portion.

The pull side template and the push side template include two sets of written instructions, each set being upside down to the other set, which permits each template to be used for both right hand and left hand installations. The use of both pull side and push side templates on the single under sheet along with the two sets of written instructions, allows a single template to be used for both push side installation and pull side installation of both right hand and left hand doors.

The aligning pin may be directionally biased in order to mate with a directionally biased recess in the door hinge. The aligning pin may be a pair of pins to mate with a correspondingly pair of recesses in the door hinge.

At least one of the first engagement portion 4 and the second engagement portions 5 is fixed between a vehicle body 22 and a door 21. The jig 1 is formed from a tabular member. As a result, positioning in mutually orthogonal two directions can be carried out simultaneously, simplifying attachment works.
