A splash-suppressing toilet seat cover (10) made of a sheet of paper or other disposable folding material. The sheet is cut and folded so that an annular portion acts as a toilet seat cover (16) to prevent body contact with toilet seat (42). The center-cut portion hangs below the user's buttocks (40) and the rest of the seat cover and above the toilet water's surface so as to act as a splash-suppressing device (26). The splash-suppressing device (26) effectively reduces splashing of toilet water caused by the drop of stools into toilet water, and also blocks the splashes, when and if they occur, from contacting the human body. A zig-zag or fan-fold is provided at one end of the cover; this fan-fold extends across the center portion and its adjacent side portions. By unfolding the fan-folds of the center portion and leaving the fan-folds of adjacent portions folded, the center portion can effectively be made longer so that it can hang down below the side portions. Two openings are provided in the splash-suppressing device (26). One opening is formed by a pair of flaps (30) and (32) to slow down the speed of the stools so as to reduce the chance of creating a splash. The other opening is formed by a flap (36) which allows urine to drip onto the water surface (44) without contaminating the toilet's surrounding area; also it prevents the user's penis (46) from contacting the toilet seat (42).
A discardable toilet pad for use in water closets, comprising an upper sheet and a lower sheet. In use, the toilet pad is stuck onto a toilet seat by way of some adhesive substance coated on its lower side, and the lower sheet extends naturally downwards forming a curved strip into the bowl of a toilet. The toilet pad of the present invention is meant for avoiding splashing by excrement falling into the bowl, and preventing contagion caused through direct touch of the skin with a toilet seat, as well as avoiding cold stimulus to the body in cold weather. The toilet pad according to the present invention is easy to manufacture, low cost, and is convenient to carry.
The invention is a ring of rubber or plastic material that fits snug around the base of a toilet at its junction with the floor. The ring contains a channel with a sloping internal wall that engages the wall of the toilet base and causes liquids to collect in channel. A recess in the outside wall of the channel allows the liquid to escape into an appropriate container. The outside wall of the channel facing the front of the toilet bowl is raise to avoid over splash.
An extensible and retractable urine deflecting apparatus 10 for use in combination with a toilet and toilet bowl comprising three distinct segments all contiguously connected. Preferably the 1.sup.st segment consists of a pair of flush mounted attach, connect, and support structures 12, but may be limited to one. Preferably the 2.sup.nd segment consists of a pair of extensible and retractable mechanical arms 14, but may be limited to one. The 3.sup.rd Segment consists of a urine deflecting device 16 or any of various methods including but not limited to absorbent paper 50, cascading water 62, stream of air 78, or lightweight mini urinal device 68. The extensible and retractable urine deflecting apparatus 10 readily converts any typical toilet into a fully functional urinal so that a user from a non sitting position may reliably deliver and deposit a stream of urine by first deflecting and then redirecting the urine into the intended inside portion of the toilet bowl in a sanitary fashion. The extensible and retractable urine deflecting apparatus 10 provides a closer target of superior angle. The urinal mode easily converts back to toilet mode and both modes share the same drain.
A cover for a toilet seat is a plurality of plastic sheet members having side, front and rear sections surrounding an opening aligned with a toilet seat opening when the cover is placed on the toilet seat to protect a person from contaminants, side members are attached to opposite sides of the sheet members and extend downwardly adjacent opposite sides of the toilet seat. An apron, attached to the front of the sheet members, extends downwardly in front of the toilet seat and bowl to shield a person's legs and clothing from the toilet seat and bowl. An internal flap releasably connected to the sheet members is adapted to extend downwardly into the toilet bowl adjacent the front of the inside of the toilet seat. The sheet members are made of water-soluble material that dissolves at temperatures in a high range. The side members and apron are made of water-soluble material that dissolves at temperatures in a low range.
An environmentally controlled toilet designed to neutralize and confine contaminating agents such as bacteria, odors, vapors and other airborne particles inside the bowl by generating and maintaining a cyclone-type air circulation inside the bowl. A bowl (70) with a housing (20), and an air-trapping cavity (76) created inside the bowl (70) by a bowl-skirt (73), confines the contaminating agents during toilet use and improves the efficiency of the air circulation. Sanitizer and odor conditioner cartridges (31) are employed to neutralize the contaminating agents by releasing sanitizing and odor conditioning agents into the air flow circulated inside the bowl (70). A toilet seat (82) having an ergonomic design has a protective skirt (87) that accommodates a hygienic-shield (100). A solution to body heat loss and noise contamination during toilet use is also addressed. The invention is retrofitable to existing toilets, and is applicable to portable toilet systems including children's training toilets.
