Abstract
As an aid for a novice skier, a close fitting fabric glove confines the forward portion of a pair of water-skis. The glove both prevents excessive lateral separation of the skis and maintains a desirable minimum separation--both features greatly assisting a novice, for example, in "getting up" from a deep water start and in his stability when waterborne. The greater planing area of the glove, compared with the ski portions it covers, and its buoyancy (from air entrapment), both help the skier to "get up" more quickly. Flexibility of the fabric of the glove permits substantially normal relative tipping and pitching of the skis for control purposes. The glove is secured to the skis by snap fasteners.

5911611 - Water ski training apparatus

A water ski training apparatus is provided which includes a training apparatus body that is adapted to be connected to a water ski tow rope. The training apparatus body supports the user's feet directly or the water skis which in turn support the feet. The apparatus body is disengagable from the skis once the skier rises to a standing position in the water. In one form, the ski training apparatus body has left and right openings for left and right skis. The openings are larger than the skis so that the skis are able to slide easily within the openings and ultimately slide off the front end of each ski once the skier becomes at least partially elevated out of the water to a standing position. A tow rope clamp is supported on the training apparatus body for connecting the body to the tow rope so that the user can hold the end of the tow rope with his hands while the training apparatus body is secured to another portion of the rope by the clamp. In this way the user can be towed by the rope with his feet supported by the training apparatus body.

5695372 - Slalom waterskiing handle positioning device

A Slalom water skiing handle positioning method and device. Target patches such as hook and loop fasteners such as Velcro.RTM. are attached along the right and left front hips of a water skier and additionally on a tow rope handle. The locations of the target patches on the hip are selected to optimize where a water skier passing through wakes in a Slalom course usually uses when pulling a tow bar handle against their hip. The target patches can be attached to the hips by a waist belt having removable covers that expose the target patches or by directly attaching the target patches to the front of a wet suit worn by a water skier. The target patches can also be formed from reusable plastic and nylon tape, and plastic and metal snapable buttons.
