Abstract
A cavity floor that includes a profiled sheet material. The sheet material has support feet that are substantially rigid. The surface of the sheet material extending between the support feet is substantially flexible. The thickness of the sheet material and the mutual spacing of the support feet are selected so that the sheet material is sufficiently rigid to support a person and sufficiently flexible to adapt to an uneven floor surface. The deformable surface enables automatic vertical adjustment of the support feet relative to one another when under load.

5572842 - Hollow floor - Owned by Firma Carl Freudenberg (Weinheim,DE)

A hollow floor composed of a profiled false floor (1) which is arranged between a top floor (2) and a sub floor (3) and is designed to be plate-shaped, the false floor (1) having cup-shaped depressions (4) that are joined together by essentially flat edge areas (5). The depressions (4) are filled in with a sound-deadening filler material (6).

5489462 - Distance plate building component with a protective, ventilating, heat-insulating and drainage function

A building component in the form of a board-like distance plate having a lattice of horizontal and vertical ribs. Frusto-pyramid projections (3) extend from the intersections of the ribs on one side of the board and domes (4) extend from the other side of the board between the ribs and cover a larger surface area than the projections (3). The domes form cavities which are interconnected by virtue of the projections spacing the plate from a wall or other surface.

5499476 - Low profile raised panel flooring with metal support structure - Owned by Interface, Inc. (La Grange, GA)

A raised flooring system and methods of forming components of such a system are disclosed. Systems consistent with embodiments of the present invention utilize thin sheet metal, typically galvanized steel, base plates laid side by side on an existing floor. Attached in a rectilinear pattern to the base plates are stand-offs, which support floor panels forming the raised or false floor (which in turn are typically covered with carpet tile). In addition to supporting the floor panels, the stand-offs form a network of channels where conduit, cables, hoses, pipe and similar materials can be routed. The stand-offs are punched and then formed from thin sheet metal, also typically galvanized steel, and have an overall shape generally that of a truncated cone achieved with four arms that have rolled edges for enhanced load-bearing capacity.

5828001 - Plastic junction box with receptacle boxes - Owned by Guilford (Delaware), Inc. (Guilford, ME)

A junction box is disclosed that has a centrally located housing with a bottom and four sides joined to form a closed perimeter. One or two receptacle boxes also having bottoms are attached to and surround the housing. The boxes enclose outlets and the cable and wire connections to the outlets, which may be accessed through the centrally located housing. A cover above the receptacle boxes completely encloses the outlets, preventing water and the like from entering the junction box and shorting any electrical connections. Frames sized to accept various types and sizes of outlets slide into tracks located within the receptacle boxes in order to position the outlets easily and securely, yet removably, within the junction box.

5713168 - Junction box for low profile raised panel flooring - Owned by Guilford (Delaware), Inc. (Guilford, ME)

A junction box that organizes and provides access to electrical, data, telecommunications or other service lines routed through numerous channels formed between a false floor and an existing floor is disclosed. The housing of the junction box can be placed at virtually any point upon a false floor so that equipment disposed about the false floor can access outlets provided within the housing and connected to electrical, data, telecommunications cables or other service lines. Additionally, a hatch with a cable protector may be provided to cover the junction box while allowing cables to enter into the box for connection to the appropriate outlet.
