A new Compact Sliding Vanity Step System for providing a pull out step for a bathroom vanity wherein a child may stand upon the step instead of having to manipulate an unsafe object adjacent the vanity. The inventive device includes a step slidably projecting under a floor of a vanity cabinet by a combination of rails, and a support member secured to a bottom surface of the step for supporting an extended portion of the step during operation. The support member is normally slightly above a floor to allow sliding of the step and the support member without the support member catching upon the floor or a rug.

A smart array comprised an array of polymer grid triodes arrayed with a common polymer grid. In a preferred embodiment it is embodied as a conducting polymer device which provides local gain adjustment for video display such that the entire sensor dynamic range available, typically more than 16 bits in the infrared detector case, can be utilized locally to solve the intra-scene contrast problem. The array of polymer grid triodes with common grid can be utilized to process the image in analog form directly on the focal plane. Alternatively, the array of polymer grid triodes with common grid can be utilized to process the image after analog to digital conversion and integrated directly into the display.

A collapsible step assembly for storing in a drawer of a cabinet. The collapsible step assembly includes a staircase for ascending and descending from a surface. The staircase includes a first end and a second end. A drawer assembly is provided for pivotally storing the staircase under the cabinet. The drawer assembly includes a drawer that has an interior. The second end of the staircase is pivotally coupled to the drawer between an extended position and a retracted position, In one embodiment of the present invention, the extended position is characterized by the staircase extending outwardly through an opening in the drawer. The retracted position is characterized by the staircase lying in the interior of the drawer. A bracket assembly is pivotally coupled to the staircase for supporting the staircase in the extended position.

This device will allow the user access to a platform and also use the device as an additional step. It will be easy to move and easy to stow. Unlike a footstool it can be easily stowed under cabinets or chairs. A hole in the center section, which is the step, allows the user to easily move it from location to location. Hinges on the sides of the steps allow the step to be raised and lowered at will and a stop mechanism is provided to allow the step to be raised and stay in position.

An apparatus having one or two steps at the election of a user. The apparatus is stored under a counter in a space that is normally wasted. When in its single step configuration the apparatus has a generally parallelepiped appearance and includes a transversely disposed front wall, longitudinally extending side walls, a transversely disposed rear wall, and a top wall that provides a first step. A folding line formed in the top wall enables a trailing section of the structure to be rotated until the rear wall lies in a horizontal plane and provides a second step. A transverse rod facilitates rotation of the second step and the transverse rod supports the second step after it has been deployed. The rod has a telescoped construction and permits lowering of the second step when the user exerts an axial force against the rod.
