Abstract
A cover in the form of a blanket has a protective grid of phosphorescent material that when exposed to light and placed in a dark environment emits light for a period of time. The protective grid is a pattern of intersecting ribbons of photophorescent material anchored to and covering substantially one surface of a fabric. The protective grid provides a visual light shield that creates an image of protection and is useable for amusement and entertainment.

5902670 - Multi-layered painting and method therefor

A multi-layered painting includes a first paint layer applied to a backing material as a viscous liquid. The first paint layer is either an oil-based, non-latex paint or a latex, non-oil-based paint. A sealing medium is applied over the first paint layer to form a barrier to bleed-through from and to subsequent paint layers. A second paint layer is applied over the sealing medium as a viscous liquid. The second paint layer is the other of the oil-based, non-latex paint and the latex, non-oil-based paint. One or both of the first and second paint layers includes a transparent luminescent pigment that is not luminescent under only ambient and incandescent light. The paint having the pigment produces a luminescent effect when subject to ultraviolet light, wherein the painting exhibits one visible object when subjected to ambient, incandescent and fluorescent light and at least one different visible object when subjected to ultraviolet light. A method for creating the painting is also disclosed.

5780124 - Ultraviolet enhanced oil painting and method therefor

An ultraviolet enhanced oil painting includes a plurality of sequentially disposed layers of oil based paints. At least one of the layers includes a transparent, ultraviolet enhanced, luminescent pigment mixed with the paint prior to layering. The ultraviolet enhanced paint layer produces a luminescent effect when subject to light. The painting exhibits one visible characteristic when subjected to ambient light conditions and exhibits at least one different visible characteristic when subjected to ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet enhanced paint layer can be disposed over the non-enhanced paint layer, the ultraviolet enhanced paint layer can be disposed between a backing media, such as a canvas and the non-enhanced paint layer, and the ultraviolet enhanced paint layer can be disposed between layers of the non-enhanced paint. A method of creating an ultraviolet enhanced oil painting includes sequentially disposing a plurality of layers of oil based paints onto a backing media such as a canvas. At least one of the layers includes a transparent, ultraviolet enhanced, luminescent pigment mixed with the paint prior to layering.

6230341 - Center indicator for bedding

The center indicator for bedding of this invention includes an indicator of the center line or mid-point between edges of bedding materials, or bed cloths, sheets, blankets, bed spreads, comforters, quilts, coverlets, and other bedding. The center indicator marks or makes obvious the center line of the bedding. This provides an easy method for a person to quickly and properly make a bed with equal amounts of material falling on each side of the bed. It eliminates the need to move back and forth to adjust the bedding material. Since the use of the center indicator for bedding makes it easy to position the bedding, the provisions of this invention are very helpful in teaching and helping a child or mentally impaired person to make a bed. The center indicator could be by many different methods. The center indicator could be woven into the material, stripes could be included, a different colored thread could be inserted along a center line during manufacturing or later installed, a unique pattern could mark the center, monograms or logos could be used by specific manufactures or distributors, or any other markings or indicators that specifically marks the center for use in making beds. An additional embodiment includes marking the head boards and/or footboards with a center indicator. This allows the center indicator on the bedding to be aligned with the markings on the head board and foot board. In addition a mattress on which the bed cover is to be used can also include a center indicator for aligning the center indicator on the bedding.

5172937 - Combined fluorescent and phosphorescent structures

Structures, including covers, labels, toys and figurines, have fluorescent and phosphorescent materials that emit and reflect light to provide a sense of identity, security, comfort, and amusement. The protective grid is a pattern of intersecting ribbons of phosphoresent material anchored to and covering substantially one surface of a fabric. The protective grid provides a visual light shield that creates an image of protection and is useable for amusement and entertainment.
