The machine tool comprises a frame (1, 2, 3) with two fixing elements (22 and 39) for fastening a scroll saw blade. The fixing element (22) is driven by an electrical motor (5) in a vertical reciprocating movement. The two fixing elements (22 and 39) are linked to each other by a metallic ribbon (45) passing on pulleys (46 to 50). The position of the pulley (47) can be changed by means of a cam (53) acting on an arm (52) so as to stretch the ribbon (45) to the desired value.
A scroll saw having a blade includes a body, a piston connected to the blade as to be moved upwardly and downwardly, and a motor for driving the piston upwardly and downwardly. A hung member is removably secured to the sawing blade. A pulled-down member is removably secured to the other end of the blade. A hanger is engaged with the hung member, and an arm secured to the body is configured so as not to interfere with the workpiece. A pulling-down member is engaged with the pulled-down member, and a suspension unit including a spring is attached to the arm and adapted to tension the blade by the elastic restoring force of the spring as the piston moves. The scroll saw machine is appropriately used as a fixed-installation type or a hand-held type saw.
A fret-saw machine comprises a base unit having a table on which a workpiece to be cut is placed, a frame member disposed in the base unit and secured to the table, an arm member having one end portion secured to the frame member and another end portion disposed above the table, a blade holder assembly having first and second slide holder units and first and second blade holder units, the first slide holder unit and the first blade holder units being disposed in the base unit and secured to the frame member and the second slide holder unit and the second blade holder unit being secured to another end portion of the arm member, blade supported at its both ends by the first and second blade holder units and a drive unit supported in the base unit by the frame member and connected to the first slide holder unit to drive the blade. The blade holder unit has a blade nipping member for firmly nipping the blade. A tension applying assembly is disposed to the blade holder assembly for suitably applying the tension to the blade. The blade may carry out its reciprocal motion in an inclined manner. The arm member is fastened so as to be positionally adjustable. The fret-saw machine is further provided with a blade cover having a workpiece pressing function and a rotation preventing structure for the sake of safeness.
A scroll saw includes a pair of spaced generally parallel upper and lower arms, a saw blade, and a saw blade fastening and tension adjusting device for securing the saw blade between the upper and lower arms. The adjusting device includes a channel, an elongated blade support, upper and lower blade holders, and an adjustment unit. The channel opens downwardly and is formed on a distal end of the upper arm. The blade support has an inner end which extends into the channel and which is connected pivotally to spaced side plates of the channel. The upper blade holder is mounted on a distal end of the blade support, while the lower blade holder is mounted on the distal end of the lower arm. The upper and lower blade holders hold removably and respectively two ends of the saw blade. The adjustment unit includes a compression spring, a connecting post and a lever. The spring is disposed between a top plate of the channel and a top surface of the blade support. The connecting post has a threaded lower end which extends through the channel and the compression spring and which is connected threadedly to the blade support. The lever has a front portion which is provided with a cam surface that abuts against the top plate of the channel and which is mounted pivotally on the connecting post.
A hacksaw with a reciprocating blade for minimizing the amount of manual action needed to operate the hacksaw. The hacksaw with a reciprocating blade includes a U-shaped housing with a hacksaw blade. A motor assembly is positioned in the interior of the housing. A pair of cam members for converting rotational motion into linear motion are rotatably coupled to the housing. A pair of drive pulleys are coupled to the cam members with one being coupled to the motor assembly. A plurality of idler pulleys are positioned in the interior of the housing. A drive belt links the motor assembly and a second drive pulley. A power source powers the motor assembly. An actuator selectively provides power from the power source to the motor assembly. A holding mechanism for selectively holds the hacksaw blade stationary in conjunction with the motor assembly.
