A three component, self adjustable pillow is provided to support and align a user's head, and shoulders. The pillow comprises a head support base containing a soft fill such as polyester, nylon, foam, chip foam, etc., and shaped as a round or elliptical, solid cylinder. A cloth attachment piece is connected along one of its sides to the pillow by sewing along the pillow length. A circular-shaped, cylindrical neck support is sewn onto the cloth attachment piece along its remaining free side, and this enables the neck support to rest on the head support base for adjustable movement by the user. Preferably, the user's shoulders are supported on the head support base and located somewhere between the edge of the support base and the base of the neck support, and usually at the edge of the support base. The soft fill construction of the head support base enables inward forces of compression produced by the user's shoulders to be transmitted into the pillow, and this causes these compressive forces to be directed along the head support base and upwards to the neck support. These upward forces will enhance the support function of the neck support. Since the user's head rests on the portion of the support base beyond the neck support, the overall effect of the adjustable pillow produces both an alignment and support of the user's shoulders, neck and head. This reduces the tendency to stiffness, discomfort, chronic muscle strain, and aching in the neck and shoulder area.

An adjustable foam pillow which allows the user to choose the degree of support provided to the user's head and neck regions. Two column or rod shaped lateral neck bolsters are formed from foam having elliptical cross sections. A central bolster is provided which is also formed from foam. The central bolster includes neck-bolster recesses along the front and back wherein said recesses are sized and configured to snugly retain the lateral neck bolsters. The neck-bolsters indentations include gear teeth receptacles and the neck bolsters include gear teeth which mesh with the gear receptacles. A user can reorient the neck bolsters relative to the central bolster by rotating the neck bolsters. The gear arrangement provides a method of registering the position of the bolsters without permanently affixing them. A stretch terry cloth pillow cover fits snugly around the entire pillow thereby holding the three separate components together.
A supporting pillow for use to support the nape of the neck/head or, if desired the small of the back when the user is at rest and/or for therapeutic treatment. The supporting pillow is formed by folding a pillow, which when folded forms an upper portion (2a), and a lower portion (2b), with lower portion (2b) being longer than upper portion (2a). Upper and lower portions are fastened to each other, preferably, with corner ends (2a") of upper portion (2a) being fastened to the sides of lower portion (2b) to maintain the shape of the supporting pillow (2), thus, provided. The double portion of the supporting pillow comprising upper portion (2a), and lower portion (2b) constitutes portion (A) for the nape of the neck, and the single portion comprising the projecting lower portion (2b) constitutes the head portion (B) when supporting a person's nape of the neck/head. The double portion may also constitute a support of the small of the back of a person in a sitting position.
A pillow that forms into a head and neck roll support, as well a support for other body parts. The pillow is continually adjustable to the user's individual body shape and requirements. The pillow has two rectangular layers of woven material (22a, 22b), covering a core layer of filler material (24), and fasteners (20a, 20b, 28a, 28b) for securing the pillow body (30) in folded and rolled spiral configurations of various shapes and sizes.
A multifunction massage system may be used to massage the neck and/or the back of a user. The system is placed between the user and the back of a chair with the user leaning back against the system to obtain a massage. The system includes a pair of counter rotating neck massage heads the position of which can be adjusted to suit the height of the user. The system also includes at least one pair of counter rotating back massage heads which massage the back of the user. The speed and direction of rotation of the neck and back massage heads may be selectively changed. Additionally the neck and back massage heads may be selectively caused to vibrate in one of a plurality of vibrational modes and with a high or low force.
A pillowcase insert, comprised of a wedge member resting on a sheet member, and an enlarged horizontally opening pillowcase, which when assembled with an ordinary sleeping pillow, will reduce the incidence of snoring and improve the sleep of the user.
