There is disclosed a polyarylene sulfide resin composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of a polyarylene sulfide resin and 5 to 300 parts by weight of metal hydroxides composed of 50% by weight or more of magnesium hydroxide, and may further containing 20 to 120 parts by weight of glass fibers and 30 to 80 parts by weight of talc.
A polyarylene sulfide resin composition providing good surface smoothness with excellent surface gloss in a molded product as well as excellent heat resistance, moldability and mechanical properties and which is suitable as the material of construction for automobiles, electric or electronic equipment comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of a polyarylene sulfide resin and (B) 100 to 200 parts by weight of mineral or ceramic fibers having a chemical composition comprising 35 to 50 wt. % of SiO.sub.2, 8 to 20 wt. % of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, 10 to 40 wt. % of CaO and 3 to 20 wt. % of MgO, represented as oxide.
Compositions containing, per 100 parts by weight polyphenylene sulphide: 10 to 300 parts by weight of a polyamide, and 20 to 350 parts by weight of a metal hydroxide in which the main constituent is magnesium hydroxide. In addition, they preferably contain 20 to 500 parts by weight of a fibrous reinforcing material.
A molding composition comprising (A) from 20 to 80% by weight of at least one polyarylene sulfide, (B) from 1 to 60% by weight of at least one mineral filler, (C) from 1 to 65% by weight of at least one surface-modified mineral filler and (D) from 0.01 to 0.4% by weight of at least one saturated, long-chain carboxylic ester, can be injection-molded or extruded to give moldings which have high surface quality and isotropic property behavior. Metallization of the moldings proves to be durable, which makes them suitable for use in lamps, in particular reflectors and electronic functional parts.
A thermoplastic resin composition comprising (a) a polyphenylene sulfide resin, (b) a polyphenylene ether resin, (c) a specific organophosphorus compound, and (d) a basic compound is disclosed. The composition exhibits improved compatibility between resinous components (a) and (b) and therefore provides a molded article having high mechanical strength and excellent appearance.
A polyphenylenesulfide composition for powder coating is disclosed. The composition comprises polyphenylenesulfide resin powder and hydrophobic silica, wherein the hydrophobic silica is added to said resin powder in the form of ultrafine particles in an amount of 0.05 to 0.6% by weight of hydrophobic silica based on the total weight of the composition, wherein the ultrafine particles have been subjected to a surface hydrophobic treatment by a silylating agent, and wherein the primary particles of ultrafine particles of the hydrophobic silica have an average diameter of 0.1 .mu.m or less.
