A construction apparatus comprising a framework installed above a completed structure of a building so as to form a working space for construction operations including installing permanent columns over the completed structure, guide posts detachably held on the completed structure, elevating and locking mechanisms provided on the framework for elevating the framework to form the working space and for locking the framework to the guide posts, and construction equipment mounted on the framework and capable of carrying out the construction operations in the working space. The framework is provided with a cover for covering the working space. A construction method of constructing a multistory building in ascending order of stories comprises the steps of elevating a framework placed on a completed structure of the building to form a working space over the completed structure, locking the framework at an elevated position to the completed structure, sequentially installing permanent columns in the working space, installing beams between the fixed permanent columns, executing construction operations in a structure formed of the permanent columns and the beams, and disengaging the framework from the completed structure. The construction can be fabricated and the construction method can be performed at a reduced cost and, in constructing multistory building, the construction apparatus saves labor and enables the uninterrupted execution of construction operations regardless of weather conditions. The construction apparatus is sufficiently resistant to earthquakes.
An apparatus for constructing a building (K) is disclosed. The building (K) includes a framework constituted of permanent columns (10) and permanent beams (11). The apparatus (S) is provided with a temporary framework (13) which is constructed and located above the building (K) under construction. Lifting mechanisms (14) for lifting the temporary framework (13) are provided at and supported by the permanent columns (10) of the building (K). Each of the lifting mechanisms (14) is able to lift the lifting mechanism (14) itself along the permanent column (10) of the building (K). A crane (12, 413, 511) is provided at the temporary framework (13) for hoisting and conveying structural elements (U) of the building (K), for example, the permanent columns (10) and beams (11). Alternatively, movable hoists (131, 607) are provided so as to transfer at least under the temporary framework (13).

An apparatus is used to support and move vertically an erected form assembly during the construction of a building with a plurality of stories. The stories include a lower story and an upper story. Each of the lower and upper stories is formed previously with a concrete wall structure that has surrounding walls formed integrally with reinforced horizontal beams which confine an interior space. The apparatus includes a form support body that can extend across the interior space of the upper story and that has a top side on which the erected form assembly can rest. A plurality of legs extend downwardly from the form support body. Each leg has a lower portion associated with a clamping unit in order to fix releasably the leg to one of the reinforced horizontal beams of the lower story. A horizontal support bar is located below and is spaced from the form support body. The horizontal support bar can extend across the interior space of the lower story and has two ends to be mounted releasably on the reinforced horizontal beams of the lower story. A moving unit, which is connected to the form support body and the horizontal support bar, is used for moving vertically the horizontal support bar with respect to the form support body.
An apparatus and method for a modular structural support and elevating system for constructing temporary support structures. The system includes providing a plurality of generally identical building elements or cribs. The cribs are generally box shaped, and a first crib may be mated to a second crib for forming elongate support structures. The cribs also have an opening on each non-mating side able to receive various mounting components. The cribs further include connecting hardware for releasably connecting the cribs to one another. A hydraulic jacking system may be used with the cribs for progressively elevating or lowering a structure.
The present invention provides a plurality of block-like building elements which may be bolted to each other to form a variety of support structures without the use of heavy hoisting equipment. Some of the building elements have a generally U-shaped appearance when viewed in plan, i.e., the building elements are open or slotted on one side so that a hydraulic cylinder or other lifting device may be inserted into the interior of the building element, or into a post formed from a stack of connected building elements. The lifting device may be used to preload the support structure. Advantageously, the lifting device may be used to progressively lift a load to a higher elevation by elevating the load a sufficient distance to enable the addition of an additional building element. The lifting device may then be repositioned within the structure for further elevating the load.
