Abstract
A training device for improving one's putting stroke has a long, slender rigid bar attached to the shaft of a putter. The bar is rigidly attached to extend rearward in an orientation perpendicular to the face of the head of the putter. A resilient, flexible line is attached to the bar. The line has one end adapted to be anchored to a stationary point, to maintain proper alignment of the putter face during a practice putting stroke. In another embodiment, a base is fixedly attached to the shaft, and a telescoping tube is hingedly connected to the base to allow vertical movement, but prevent lateral movement or rotation of the shaft during the practice stroke. In another embodiment, a base includes a flat end flange for vertical pivotal attachment by a clevis hinge to a long rigid rod, which passes through a stationary eye. Also included is a movable L-shaped member for establishing a proper angle for holding the putter.

5716286 - Golf putter alignment teaching device

A training device for golf putting, said device being removably securable to a golf putter having a putter face and vertically disposed shaft, said device comprising: clamping means for removably securing said teaching device in a generally horizontally plane, said alignment member including an elongate portion for longitudinally axial alignment with a longitudinal axis of the putter face; elongated flexible guide means secured to said elongate portion of said alignment member for guiding a golf ball to a target; and means for tensioning said guide means and maintaining tension on said guide means from said alignment member to the target during a stroke of the putter.

6471598 - Golf swing training device

A golf swing training device which is designed while attaching importance to natural physical motion of a golfer and which assures that the club draws a straight trajectory. The training device has an extensible restraining rod whose top end is attached to one arm of the golfer. The bottom end of the training device is attached to a side of the head of the shaft of a golf club. The restraining rod can be stretched and compressed and thus the length can be adjusted. A holding belt is loosely mounted to a side of the restraining rod that is attached to the golfer's arm. A flexible coupling forms the end of the restraining rod that is mounted to the club shaft.

5816928 - Golf putting practice apparatus

The golf putting practice apparatus of this invention includes a base having a bias clement attached thereto and a flexible connecting element connected between the bias element and an attachment assembly, which may be releasably attached to a putter. The bias element provides tension to the connecting element in order to maintain the portion of the connecting element extending between attachment assembly and the bias element taut, thereby providing a substantially linear alignment reference along which an individual may traverse the putter.

5807185 - Adaptive physical education device

An adaptive physical education device has a frame with a variety of attachable components so that the device may be adapted to a variety of sporting applications, such as golf, baseball, and hockey. The frame, in the preferred embodiment, attaches to the front portion of a wheelchair using a pair of adjustable wheelchair brackets. A pivotable "L" shaped post is attachable to the frame so that the pivotable post may be attached pointing upwards or downwards to accommodate different swinging motions of a bat or a club. An elastic spring is attached to the pivotable post at one end and to the club or bat at the opposite end. A handle is attached to the club or bat, so that the wheelchair participant may grasp the handle while seated in the wheelchair, pull back the handle, extending the elastic spring, and let go of the handle, the elastic spring propels the club or bat forward.

6814671 - Telescopic putter mounted to headband

A telescopic putter mounted to a headband is a novelty game that mimics the game of golf. It is played indoors with a lightweight plastic ball and a cup resting on the floor. The game follows the general rules of putt-putt golf, except for the rule that the player must not touch the club with their hands when swinging. Instead the club is attached to the player's head with the use of a headband. Thus, the player must bend over the ball, place their hands on their knees and swing the club by turning their head from side to side. The club has an adjustable length shaft that telescopes in and out to accommodate players of varying heights.
