An auxiliary safety harness, suitable for use by a child sitting on a vehicle seat provided with a releasable lap belt, has a pelvic guard positionable to extend laterally across the front pelvic area of the child and a portion which extends downwardly between the child's legs. The pelvic guard has at least one retainer loop through which the lap belt can pass to retain the pelvic guard in position when the lap belt is fastened. A flexible connecting portion extends from the downwardly extending portion of the pelvic guard to an upper end portion whereby, in use, the flexible connecting portion can be positioned to extend between the child's bottom and the vehicle seat and upwardly between the child's back and the back part of the seat. The upper end portion can be releasably secured to the back part of the seat.

An installation for moving a person along a path such that the body of said person is subjected to certain speeds and/or accelerations including a frame, a main arm movably joined to said frame at a horizontal axis and a further arm that is mounted by means of a rotary joint on the end of the main arm, a driver for driving the arm, as well as at least one seat that is constructed to hold a person securely in place.

A cover for a person in a seat, e.g. a child in a car seat, booster seat, stroller, or other seating arrangements, including a recessed notch to allow for proper covering of a child's shoulders, an extended tab to provide covering for the child's legs and feet, and two side wings allowing the cover to be secured to the seating arrangement. The cover is provided with fasteners to removably secure the cover to corresponding fasteners on the seating arrangement.

A five point restraint system having a harness for securing an occupant to an occupant seat including: a first and a second belt, each of the first and second belts including first and second ends, and a shield plate slidably receiving each of the first and the second belts, each of the first ends of the belts fixedly secured relative to the occupant seat, the shield plate including first and second openings through which the first and second belts are through threaded, the shield plate including first lock member for lockingly engaging with second lock member positioned on the seat, the shield plate and belts extendable over the occupant's head and shoulder and the belts engagable with the occupant's shoulders, the belt portions extending toward the first ends engagable against the outside of the lower torso of the seated occupant; a belt tightener for receiving the second ends of the belts permitting the extension and retraction of each belt, wherein upon engagement of the first lock means to the second lock member a five point restraint system is achieved such that the lower torso of the occupant extends between the shield plate and the belts, the shield between the legs and belts holding the shoulders.

A car seat for an infant or child including a seat body having a seat back and a seat pan for receiving an occupant thereon and at least one shoulder harness coupled to the seat body and being shaped and located to fit over the occupant and retain the occupant on the seat body. The car seat further includes a bracket coupled to the at least one shoulder harness. The at least one shoulder harness includes a sliding portion extending from a lower portion of the seat body to an upper portion of the seat body and being slidingly received through the bracket, and a bracket portion extending from the upper portion of the seat body to the bracket and being coupled to the bracket.
