Abstract
A device for applying codes and/or coatings to objects having irregular shapes and/or diverse surfaces including a handle assembly having a first, second and third roller mounting assembly secured thereto for presenting roller applicators in three separate planes, one of which is adjustable relative to the other two. The device is adapted for disassembly into a bi-roller and a mono-roller applicator when exigencies require.

6045282 - Multi-roller paint applicator system

A tri-roller painting assembly having a main body portion, including a lower handle portion and an upper roller support portion. The upper roller support portion supports a first roller rotationally mounted along the face of the upper support surface, which rotates but is stationary along its rotational axis. There is further provided a pair of movable arms mounted to the upper face portion of the system, with each of the arms movable between a first closed position and a second open position. Each of the arms further includes a roller extending perpendicular therefrom, with the rollers extending therefrom positioned in parallel relation and perpendicular to the first roller. There is further provided a trigger member on the handle so that when the trigger member is squeezed by the user of the apparatus, the movable arms are moved from the first end position to the second out position so that the pair of rollers may accommodate various widths of boards or the like. There is further provided a spring or expandable member, interconnecting the two arms so that when the trigger member is released, the two arms are pulled toward the closed position by the spring member for being held firmly against the sides of the surface to be painted. Further, there is provided a paint delivery system which includes a single paint feed line extending through the handle member and diverging into three separate lines with a first line feeding paint to the core of the first stationary roller member, and the second and third lines feeding paint into the core of each of the parallel roller members, thus enabling the user of the apparatus to paint varying widths of boards or type surfaces, which can adjust automatically to the different widths of the surfaces and can have a continuous paint feed into the system so that painting can continue without having to be interrupted during the painting process.

5386611 - Paint roller

A paint roller support assembly comprises an elongated handgrip member having an internally threaded sleeve at its distal end and a roller-supporting rod member attached to the handgrip member by an externally threaded portion. The roller-supporting rod member is L-shaped, having mutually perpendicular leg portions. Each leg portion receives a rotatable paint roller assembly in a position such that longitudinal elements of the roller surfaces in the plane of the leg portions and nearest to the handgrip member form an internal corner. The threaded connection between the roller-supporting member and the handgrip member permits the roller assembly on the leg having the threaded portion to be removed and replaced. The paint roller support assembly is intended for simultaneously painting surfaces that face generally away from and laterally, relative to the user.

6000090 - Paint roller construction having two degrees of freedom

A pair of paint rollers are respectively rotatably mounted to a pair of parallel, spaced apart axle members that form a part of a rigid frame. A rigid clip rod at the center of the frame is releasably engaged by a clip member that is pivotally secured to a handle-receiving socket member at the leading end of an elongate handle which is held by a painter when paint is applied to a preselected surface. The pivotal attachment allows pivotal movement between the clip member and hence the frame and the longitudinal axis of the elongate handle in a first plane. The clip rod is cylindrical and is captured by the clip member when the clip member is in a position of repose, but the cylindrical surface allows the frame member to pivot with respect to the clip member and hence the elongate handle in a second plane that is normal to the first plane. A lock member is slideably mounted on the leading end of the socket member. It does not interfere with the pivotal movement in the first plane when in a retracted position, but it disable the pivotal movement in the first plane when in an extended position.

7281291 - Paint roller tool for corners - Owned by Zoya, Inc. (Sunrise, FL)

A paint roller tool includes first and second paint rollers, mounted to extend from shaft portions of a frame and to turn about axes of rotation perpendicular to one another. Each of the paint rollers includes a peripheral cylindrical surface and a distal end covered with a material suitable for holding and applying wet paint. The paint rollers are separated from one another in a direction perpendicular to both of their axes of rotation and are aligned with one another so that the distal end of each roller is aligned with an outer edge of the cylindrical peripheral surface of the other roller, so that an "L"-shaped area at an interior corner can be painted.

6238740 - Paint system - Owned by Padco Inc. (Minneapolis, MN)

A decorative painting kit including multiple-color paint applicators and a method of decoratively painting a surface though in situ surface blending of two or more paints of different colors by using a multiple-color paint applicator which is stroked over the same surface a sufficient number of time to at least partially blend the different paint colors. The partial in situ surface blending of two or more paints produces a decorative pattern on the painted surface that is color characterized by having areas with some of the original paint colors and other areas with various blends of the original paint colors thereon to produce a decoratively painted surface.
