Abstract
A carrier (10) for a six pack (20) of beverage containers (14) has rings (12) interconnected by strips (16) and (18). The rings (12) fit around the beverage containers (14) in a friction fit. The strips (16, 18) are severed from adjacent rings (12) to remove one of the beverage containers (14) from the six pack (20). The ring (12) is moved so that it extends partially below bottom (24) of the container (14) so that the ring (12) will function as a coaster by supporting the container (14) above a surface (26) to prevent condensation on the container (14) from contacting the surface (26).

5642831 - Beverage container with vertically adjustable base - Owned by National Packaging Corporation (Columbus, OH)

A drinking container is provided having a liquid containing portion and a slidably displaceable sleeve member. The slidably displaceable sleeve member is located adjacent the liquid containing portion. The liquid containing portion has a bottom surface. The sleeve member has a sidewall and a bottom surface. The sleeve member in a first position has its bottom surface spaced apart from the bottom surface of the liquid containing portion a first distance, while the sleeve member in a second position has its bottom surface spaced apart from the bottom surface of the liquid containing portion a second distance. The drinking container preferably has an upwardly projecting wall having at least one engaging member. Additionally, the sleeve member has a plurality of channels formed in its sidewall. The drinking container is formed having a first wall member and a second wall member, such that the sleeve member is retained between the first and second wall members. The liquid containing portion of the drinking container is configured to hold a maximum predetermined volume of liquid, which volume does not change when the sleeve member is displaced from its first position to its second position. The plurality of channels associated with the sleeve member include a first vertical channel, a second vertical channel, an intermediate horizontal channel connecting the two, and a plurality of horizontal retention channels, each of the horizontal retention channels being connected to the second vertical channel.

5295598 - Drinking vessel and retainer therefor

The present invention relates to drinking vessels and more particularly to drinking vessels having an arcuate bottom which will not allow the drinking vessel to be positioned atop a substantially planer surface unless a specially adapted coaster is utilized. The drinking vessel includes a body having an upper portion including an opening for receiving and dispensing liquids and a bottom having a substantially arcuate outer surface. The coaster includes a recessed area for fittingly receiving the arcuate bottom of the drinking vessel and optionally a groove for receiving a portion of a handle which projects from the drinking vessel.

5415305 - Insulating sleeve for a beverage pitcher - Owned by Miller Brewing Company (Milwaukee, WI)

An insulating sleeve for a beverage pitcher is disclosed. The sleeve is a flexible jacket capable of surrounding the pitcher while allowing the pitcher handle to extend out through the side. The jacket also has an open top to permit the pitcher's pour spout to extend out of the top, and an open bottom to permit the base of the pitcher to extend out from the bottom. Advertising messages can be positioned on both the outside and inside of the design, and the sleeve is reversible. The jacket can be formed from a flat piece of material that is generally trapezoidal.
