A vending machine has a carousel containing several rotatable trays stacked one above another. The trays carry and present for vending selected items, such as food and merchandise. The carousel is contained in a housing or canister and is part of an integrated assembly with a coin container. The carousel is filled at a central depot rather than at the site where the machine is installed for use by customers. The customer locations have the cabinet of the machine. Fixed in the cabinet is a drive mechanism for the carousel and locating and guide members which enable integrated assemblies to be removed from the cabinet and fresh assemblies, with the carousel trays loaded at the central depot, to be installed in place of the removed assemblies. The coin box when empty is equipped with a mechanism which is set to enable coins to drop into the container and is automatically reset so as to close the opening when the assembly is removed from the cabinet. The important advantage of not requiring vending machine servicing personnel for being responsible for stocking or handling of moneys is obtained with this vending machine.
A mechanism for removing selected food containers from a carousel situated in the refrigerated food storage compartment of an automatic hot food vending machine consisting of a rotatable selector plate which forms the bottom of the carousel and food containers can be removed from the refrigerated food storage compartment.
An installation for the packaging of a product in containers closed with a stopper, including in particular a filling machine (1), a stopping machine (3) and, upstream of this, a device (6) for the dynamic storage of stoppers suitable to drive the stoppers continuously and with a pre-specified pitch, the number of stoppers present simultaneously in the device (6) being at least equal to that of the containers present in a pre-specified part (7) of the installation, means (8) for the control of the supply of stoppers being provided upstream of the device (6) to control a device (10) for supplying containers located upstream of the pre-specified part (7); thus, for every container engaged in the pre-specified part (7) corresponds a stopper present in the device (6) supplying the stopping machine (3) and, in the event of an incident in the supply of stoppers upstream of the device (6), the supply of containers from the pre-specified part (7) is controlled (9, 10) while maintaining the operation of the terminal part of the installation at least until the incident is over.
A vending system employs a vending machine with a cylindrical body and removably mounted top and bottom endpieces that allow the external appearance of the machine to be changed according to the type of product to be vended. The ornamentation can be formed in shapes resembling standard types of beverage cans, bottles, and other types of containers. A preferred version of the machine has two arcuate doors on opposing sides of the machine to allow vending access and refilling on both sides of the machine. Door-mounted components, including payment mechanism, selection buttons, and dispenser slot, are arranged vertically in a line at the deepest part of the door, and an offset two-array stacking configuration of the beverage units is used to obtain an optimal storage capacity of the machine. Other versions include a full cylindrical version or a semi-cylindrical one with one door for installations allowing vending access from the front only.
An apparatus for destroying medical waste material is provided including a transportable container member, a processor having rotatably driven roller members for breaking the medical waste materials into smaller particles, a removable receptacle for containing the medical waste particles, and a loading device for actuating an opening mechanism of the transportable container and regulating the introduction of medical waste material therein.
A dispenser is provided with a carousel rotatably supported within a housing. The carousel includes multiple cells spaced circumferentially from each other upon the carousel. A door is provided in the housing which provides access to one cell. Each cell can contain an item, such as a newspaper, to be dispensed. A coin-op is mounted to the dispenser and allows a lever to be manually actuated when payment is made. When the lever is actuated, a latch of a door control assembly is released so that the door can be opened. The lever also causes an arm of a carousel control assembly to be rotated, which arm causes the carousel to be rotated along with the lever. Dividers between adjacent cells in the carousel preclude access to adjacent cells when a user has access to one of the cells through the door, such that theft is precluded.
