Proa sailing vessel including a pair of spaced hulls comprising a windward and a leeward hull, a crossbeam assembly interconnecting the hulls and a fixed mast assembly with its lower end supported on the crossbeam intermediate the hulls and being inclined athwartship so that its upper end is disposed substantially vertically above the windward hull. The mast assembly is supported by a rigging arrangement which includes a standing stay extending between the upper end portion of the mast assembly and the windward side of the proa and a pair of pivot stays extending from an elevated pivotable mounting on the upper end portion of the mast assembly to respective opposite ends of a first boom connected through a lower pivotable mounting disposed intermediate the respective opposite ends to the leeward side of the proa. In this way, the pivot stays may be pivoted with the boom between respective opposing longitudinal positions at opposite sides of a pivot axis extending between the elevated and lower pivotable mountings whereby one of the pivot stays constitutes a forestay along which the sail may be hoisted.

The present application is a continuation-in-part application of application Ser. No. 18,901, filed as PCT/AU86/00159, Jan 3, 1986, and now abandoned.
An iceboat includes a hull and a perpendicular extending plank attached to the rear end of the hull. Side struts extend from outer ends of the plank to the forward portion of the hull. A mast is mounted on each side strut at a position rearward of the occupant cockpit in the hull and supports a sail. Skates are attached to the front end of the hull and to the outer ends of the plank.
A control apparatus for a hull with a four-cycle engine installed thereon can perform engine stop processing by quickly detecting a turnover state of the hull while suppressing a turnover determination delay due to noise superposition. The apparatus includes a turnover determination part that determines, based on a detection signal from a turnover detection switch, whether the hull is in a turnover state, and an engine stop part that stops the engine upon determination of a final hull turnover state. The turnover determination part increments a detection ratio counter each time a detection signal indicative of a hull turnover state is input thereto, counts up a continuous turnover counter each time the detection ratio counter value indicates a predetermined determination ratio value or above. When the continuous turnover counter value reaches the predetermined determination value or above, the turnover determination part determines that the hull is in the final turnover state.
