The stereophonic system of the invention comprises two tweeters (12, 13) fixed to the front panel, and a low-frequency loudspeaker (4) fixed to an enclosure (6) inside the back of the cabinet. It is thus possible to use a large low-frequency loudspeaker.
A Passive loudspeaker enclosure for a television receiver. Interference in the reproduced picture caused by magnetic stray fields from the enclosure occurs, in particular, with color television receivers with 33 inch picture tubes. The task is to reduce the magnetic stray fields by employing simple measures and without using additional components until the interference no longer appears in the picture. In particular, for a loudspeaker enclosure in a television receiver with a 33 inch picture tube.
A television set has a cabinet, a cathode-ray tube and first and second speakers having respectively first and second centerlines. The cabinet is formed with first and second sound-reflecting sidewall portions and with first and second open portions facilitating egress of sound from the speakers to the exterior of the cabinet. The speakers are mounted adjacent to the first and second sidewalls, respectively, near the neck portion of the cathode-ray tube and are oriented so that the first and second centerlines intersect the first and second sound-reflecting sidewall portions at first and second points and at first and second angles of incidence. First and second lines passing through the first and second points and oriented in accordance with first and second angles of reflection respectively equal to the first and second angles of incidence pass through the first and second open portions and converge towards a point in front of the television set.
In a television receiver having a pair of speakers provided at the right and left sides of its image display portion, respectively, for reproducing the stereo audio signal by the speakers, one of the pair of speakers is constituted by the speaker unit for reproducing the middle and high frequency range of the stereo audio signal, and the other of the pair of speakers is constituted by the speaker unit for reproducing all frequency range of the stereo audio signal which is superior in reproduction characteristics of the low frequency range audio signal than that of the speaker unit for reproducing the middle and high frequency range.
A woofer module is provided for use in a television set, which comprises a hollow enclosure and a woofer accommodated within the enclosure for reproducing a sound of low audible frequency band. The enclosure has a first sound wave passageway extending from a front side of the woofer toward a first open end and a second sound wave passageway extending from rear side of the woofer toward a second open end. The second passageway is divided into an upstream region, a middle expansion region and a downstream region. The upstream region is contiguous to the rear side of the woofer and has a cross-sectional area smaller than that of the expansion region so that an equivalent air mass can be applied to the woofer.
The present invention is to provide a speaker cabinet comprising a hollow case in which a top and a bottom thereof both are wavily tapered from a pair of opposite edges of a front opening to a rear thereof. By utilizing the wavy, rearward taper design of the top and the bottom, a ratio of an area of the opening to an area of the rear is increased. Thus, air inside the case will be compressed rearward when a diaphragm of a woofer vibrates. Next, the compressed air will quickly flow toward the rear along the wavy, rearward taper inner surfaces of the top and the bottom. As a result, air dynamic at the rear is higher and stronger low-frequency resonance of the cabinet can be generated.
